Ate there today on a whim and it was far and away one of the worst fast food experiences I've had. I know people go for the ice cream/milkshakes but holy shit their actual food was literally just the frozen hamburgers you get down the street at a generic grocery store, their fries probably were too but I couldn't tell on those. I felt sick halfway through eating it all.

Years ago, I was in Minneapolis and had lunch with my girlfriend and her mother, who worked for General Mills at the time, at Dairy Queen. I remember having onion rings with my burger; then getting violently ill afterwards to where they had to take me home. It was years before I could bring myself to have onion rings again, even from a restaurant that wasn't Dairy Queen. I will NEVER eat Dairy Queen's hot food; rarely will I even come close to getting an ice cream or blizzard from them because of my experience.

That's about the extent of it, IMO. Haven't had good food from there in years and the last time I did, it was likely because it was a brand new store, but who knows, really?

Ice cream is good stuff though, best for chains.

Grocery store burgers are the literal lowest quality burger you can get, man. Like, the ones in the frozen isle that come out of boxes. Burgers from the deli could still be great.

Grocery stores also sell ground beef, or even beef you can grind yourself if you're into that. Heck, you even admit that not all grocery store burgers are terrible, like it's weird to say "grocery store burgers are the lowest-quality burgers that exist... except when they're not the lowest-quality burgers that exist."

Why are you equating grocery store burgers with the absolute worst burgers they sell, instead of the best?

I've been there for the Blizzards but I don't think I've gotten real food before. Thing you need to realize is individual people own these shops so one crappy one may not represent the whole chain. Our area lost a bunch of restaurants this summer, one being a Golden Corral that didn't last a few weeks.

You do know that all restaurants have frozen food, right? Restaurants have huge walk-in style freezers where they keep the food. It's not like they're ordering fresh daily. The burger at any restaurant has probably been in the freezer for at least a week if not longer.

Wrong. Plenty of places serve never frozen burgers and also try to limit the number of frozen items on the menu. In-n-out ships fresh daily to all their restaurants. I've worked at 2 restaurants that serve never frozen burgers.

You can store beef in a fridge for like 2 weeks, any decent restaurant will resupply at least every two weeks.

I said freezer, not fridge. They're two different things. You can freeze meat for a lot longer than two weeks.

I worked at two different Arbys (one while in high school and one while in college). Both of them kept roughly a month's supply of beef in the freezer. I would assume all Arby's would do that as well since it's probably a company wide guideline. It's good to keep a surplus because you never know when you might have one week that is just insanely busy for whatever reason or maybe a shipment delay or whatever. It's therefore better to keep a surplus than to end up running out.

Yeah, Dairy Queen is weird about franchising. We have a couple of them around here, one you just walk up to a window and order and no place to dine in, and they both have all the ice cream stuff but dont even have burgers or fries or chicken strips, just hot dogs and nachos and little bags of chips.

Most of the time, the burgers at any DQ are the hot and spicy kind which I just dont like.

But I do like the cheese balls or cheese curds you young folk call them.

That and I love the brownie batter blizzard whenever its there.

Reeses pieces and peanut butter cup blizzard so far is good but sweet.

While their food isn't the best I've had from a fast food chain (not even close), I wouldn't call it the worst. That honor goes to Quiznos. I remember the first (and last) time I went to a Quiznos with my family. We all took one bite of our respective sub sandwiches and, outside of my dad, we all spat that piece out and threw that shit in the garbage where it belonged. At least the cookie was good.

Most food poisoning takes 2-3 days to kick in. It's very rarely the last thing you ate that makes you sick; odds are you were sick already and incorrectly attributed it to DQ.

Quiznos is great. Pricey, and their franchising structure is weird and makes it pretty hard to sustain an individual store, but they're pretty consistently good food. I'm thinking you got a bad franchise.

The fact that Brownie Batter isn't a permanent menu item is pretty much the worst thing ever. I keep meaning to make my own by just blending some brownie batter and brownie chunks into a tub of their soft serve, but I really wish I could just go buy one. They were the best.

Yes you can store food in a freezer, but it makes it taste terrible. Good restaurants won't store meat in the freezer. people act like places either freeze their meat or have to resupply everyday because they forget that fridges exist.

Doing a quick Google search, multiple sites say that cooked ground beef will only last about three to five days in the fridge. Raw ground beef will last even less time. I don't think you know what you're talking about.
