The trailer made me think of all the worst aspects of Futurama (as opposed to the really good aspects of Futurama), so I kind of became disinterested in it.

It also hurts that I think comedy is much harder to do well in a fantasy setting than it is in a modern or sci-fi future setting.

I dunno man, KonoSuba is pretty damn funny.

KonoSuba also gets to play off of modern humor too, what with it being an isekai. But yeah, good show. Definitely the best of its genre, IMO.

Started Disenchantment. The princess's buckteeth are a major distraction. I guess they wanted the character to look a little more comical (rather than potentially look cute) but she looks like she could be Cletus's very distant ancestor.

Up to episode 7 already. Been thoroughly enjoying it. Like most comedies, reviewers don't know jack shit and should be ignored.

Finished the first episode. Not sure what everybody's deal is (or, at least, some peoples'), since it starts to get pretty funny when Bean gets back to the castle. Her handmaiden had some great quips, some of the Elfland gags were funny, and the demon has been great ("I'm not a ghost. Ghosts are losers that got murdered.").

"You're magic, right?"
"Yup. Not that kind of magic, though."

The first episode was certainly better than the first episode of Futurama.

Same as any other number of shows where an American family goes about their daily lives? Not sure how much you expect here. Technically it's got the same amount of plot as something like Shameless, although Shameless has more running continuity. I think you're conflating plot and running continuity, though. All scripted television (excluding something like newscasts) has a plot. Some shows are more episodic in nature than others (including the X-Files which was partly praised *for* its running continuity)

Would try but don't get Flix.

I watched the first episode and it was largely unfunny.

Just watched when Bean is looking for work and was cracking up for several minutes over the last one she tried. (Joke spoilers) ie, the one where she comments, "Wow, I'm a good butcher," and then, right before the camera pans out, her boss says, "This is a pet shop."

Also I need to find or make a gif of Luci saying "Do it" (specifically from that one scene which I think was in episode 2)

I loved The Simpsons for the first 15 or so years. I never lost interest in Future ma and enjoyed it just as much after it came back.

I watched most of the first episode of this new show. I won't be watching any more of it. It was a total miss for me. It really just left me feeling disenchanted... >_>
