Apple is far worse than any other option-I like a lot of their products but they're just laughing at us now and haven't put any serious thought into their work for years. The whole "just works" ethos has been turned into "how flashy can we make it, functionality be damned".

Android is indentical to iPhone? Not really. Any Android comes with a shitton of bloatware that the providers and device manufacturers shovel onto the device that you can only remove if you jailbreak your phone. iPhones only come with the default Apple apps which you can uninstall at any time. They can also do the exact same functions as androids. You can still play games, make and receive calls, make and receive text messages, and use the same apps. The only difference is that you dont have to deal with shovelware apps.

The observation that @ChaoticKnuckles was asking about is the internet hivemind opinion that iPhones are bad because theyre overpriced and that people who buy them are drones because they like something they dont like.

Let me put it this way. I can break and replace my current phone 4 times over before I can save up enough to get an iPhone X.

And I bought a $35 SD Card to bump up my storage to 128 GB. That kind of storage increase on an iPhone would run you another $150 because they're pieces of shit (the people at Apple, not the phones).

Having some ghetto apps that are locked onto the phone I just disable that take up a collective 120 MB isn't worth shelling out an additional $800 so I can say "look at how user friendly this is!"

Minimum 2x the price, less options, inferior hardware most the time and and you can take off all the bloatware on android if you want, stuff that you could ignore and doesn't harm you anyway... The whole reason apple doesn't have as much bloatware is because Apple uses their OWN bloatware and locks you into it just to use basic features so you're essentially paying for Apple exclusive bloatware and no additional options and at 2x the price....Apple doesn't even like making things backwards compatible with their OWN devices.

Also, you not having problems isn't everyone. You could be an outlier, same way plenty of people don't have problem with android. In any case, one of the least intelligent things I've heard about why you're picking ANY brand over another... It spells sucker regardless of what company does it.

Is that really true for phones though? All the phones that directly compete with the iPhone (except the X which I have no desire to own) are comparable in price. And the cheaper phones made by other manufacturers are the ones Ive had problems with. I cant speak on their other products as I dont own an Apple computer or an Apple Watch or anything like that. But the latest iphone costs the same as the lastest Samsung phone or Google phone or whatever so Im not sure where the 2x cost thing is coming from unless youre talking about other Apple products.

Not the OS, the hardware. Bloatware is easy to shut off.

Chaotic is right though. CrApple products are disgustingly overpriced compared to equivalent products and yes people buy it because it makes them feel elite for pissing away that kind of money.

There are a lot of cases where people make a decision to see themselves as a status symbol when the reality is they're just a tool. Oh you're a 'social media celeb'? Go play in the dirt, scrub. You're nothing. Mac user? Lol.

Sounds like a 'you' problem really. Possibly because you're forced to use only software they create. Less compatibility issues, but less flexibility by getting locked in their ecosystem. My question is why you think thats the mentality of most people that purchase them. Which is why I asked if youre surrounded by people that are constantly trying to impress you with their phones or something. Im just not really understanding where the perception you have is coming from. I mean I dont think Ive ever run across someone that tried to impress me with their phone or computer or something, whether it be Apple or otherwise.

Having some ghetto apps that are locked onto the phone I just disable that take up a collective 120 MB isn't worth shelling out an additional $800 so I can say "look at how user friendly this is!"

Are they all that user-friendly, though? I have an old iPhone 4 (which I use as a MP3 player) and it doesn't seem that much better or worse than any of my Android-based phones.

Twitter or more to the point how some people act like it created the internet.

Not fond of Twitter in terms of format, layout, etc, but the social media site I really hate is Reddit. Would it Reddit be considered a big company?

I like that there are companies on the list that have done actual terrible things and people here are thinking "micro transactions make me mad."

The companies doing actual awful stuff aren't really on the list at all. It's all trivial companies, not things like BP where their ineptitude caused a massive oil spill and then they allegedly used illegal chemicals to speed up the cleanup.

Disney. They made me stop caring about Marvel and SW, my two favourite things in the 90s. Fuck.

tbh, the Disney takeover killed the best Spider-Man cartoon so far. And, while the prequel trilogy was awful, TFA was soulless garbage. (TLJ was actually a lot better except for Finn & Rose who ate up a lot of time with their pointless misadventure.) And, after the first few MCU films, I kinda lost interest. Part of that was the Whedonized Avengers movie.

Google ruins everything they touch.

tbh, the only major problem I have with Google is after they bought YT they merged YT with Google+ so they could make Google+'s userbase look bigger. I still prefer gmail to other mail services.
