6 y/o Clinton Stanley missed his FIRST day at school because administrators at the private Christian School BANNED him from opening th e door after they saw him have DREADLOCKS!!

His Dad, Clinton Sr is outraged as he took to Faceobok stating the staff at Book's Christian Academy telling them that his son's hairstyle is a violation.

He recorded the confrontation with the white woman at the office and said "My son just got told that he cannot attend the school with his hair" and then records his son dressed in uniform and wearing a bookbag as he stands outside the locked door.

Clinton says "If that's not biased, then i don't know what it is". He asks if he could braid his son's dreadlocks up but a school official tells him that she doesn't think it's allowed and it has to be "above the ears".

He screams "that's crazy. he's ready to go to school but he can't"

Another admin tells them that she will have to UN-ENROLL him from the school now.

Stanley bursts out in anger and says "I don't want him here period. That's his hair." He then points to a female teacher's hair which is down to her shoulders and says "What's the difference? That's a rule. I respect that. it's just not right. it's not..that's nto very disrespectful and biased. i should have been told this months ago"

They tell him on the policy of hair in a handbook but it doesn't mention anything about dreadlocks. He tried to reason with them and said he'll put it in a ponytail but then it'll look like a GIRL and said they won't allow it..

Instead of cutting his son's hair, he enrolled his son into a public school at Lovell Elementary

The Book states that boys must have short groomed hair as administrator Sue Book said "All of our boys have short hair..it's the style of hair that we only tolerate and we don't allow boys to have long hair. We never have and that won't change"

Stanley points out in a facebook post that the handbook also says "Since all children are created in the image of God, no student will be denied admission because of race, colour or national origin"

She denies that race was a factor telling the outlet that 95% of their students are black who said she's now receiving ugly, obscene calls

Stanley will hold a community meet up to discuss discrimination policies to target black hair and black children in school

Do you think dreadlocks should be an allowed hairstyle in school?

Clinton and his Dad locked out -

Is it bad if the military makes you get a buzz cut? Schools have been going soft and this is a Christian school, why would a 6yo have dreadlocks anyway? I have a feeling there's more to this story.

Private school with style codes? Fair, next.

To be fair the military will allow certain exceptions to hair style based in religious beliefs. That doesn't seem relevant I. This case given that it's a religious school he can't claim Rastafarian or whatever.

Nope but I also think parents should have their kids follow the rules that a school put in place rather than pissing and moaning about it. Schools like employees want their pupils/staff to have a certain image. You either put up with it or gtfo. It's not hard.

Everyone being required to get the same haircut is different from banning only specific hairstyles. And banned hairstyles tend to overwhelmingly be hairstyles popular with black people. Sure that's just a coincidence, though....

Unless I see some other boys at that school with long hair, this is totally fair. It isn't cool and it certainly isn't very Christian but those are the rules they have decided upon.

It may be a very old-school christian thing or maybe not.

All I know is I worked at one of these places as staff for a summer camp and they made ALL the guys cut their hair above the ears. I had hair far down as my chin, I was mad. To make me feel better they also told me about a guy who they felt bad for because he had dreads that went down to his back. But hey they did the haircuts for free.

I wonder if this school actually would allow a mohawk? Its short and above the ears.

If this is true, then fair, next. It is a private school, and if the dress code is in the handbook, well, that's the parent's fault for not reading it.

Exactly right. Private institutions don't have to accomodate people if they don't want to. There are certain rules, standards, and expectations, and in this case this kid doesn't fit in to those.

The left is so hypocritical though... People should be forced to bake gay wedding cakes for people (at places where they apparently don't even bake cakes in the first place), but it's ok for all the biggest social media organizations to coordinate together in a childish act of frustration and desperation, and suddenly mass ban popular voices who they don't like because all other efforts suppress them and us from them, have miserably failed.

They attack Christianity, they attack American people's history and culture and people, they attack European people's history and culture, they attack capitalism, they attack freedom of speech, they attack the right to defend yourself, they attack men, they attack children, they attack gender in general, they attack biology and other sciences, they attack diversity of opinion, they attack people for even associating with any person or group they don't like, with extreme verbal abuse, unreasonable offensive hate filled labels, threats of violence, and are unwilling to act in a mature fashion or engage in any effort whatsoever to have a discussion or to help the people they blindly accuse to alter their perspectives.

If they want to remove people from their platforms and organizations, fine, but it has to work both ways. If you aren't wanted you have no right to be accepted and no reason needs to be given.
