Yea yea Danny hosts Wake Up San Francisco, but he lives with a no talent comedian and a guy who plays in bar bands.

That house has to cost at least 3 million dollars.

I mean, television stars usually make really good money, especially working in San Francisco, right?

and when becky moves in she is bringing her money from also being a talk show host so im sure between the 4 of them they can afford the house

They don't pay bills. They're just taking advantage of Danny.

Also I think that Jesse was a pedophile or something

There were like four adults at least living in that house & two of them were big-name TV anchors; them living in that house was by far one of the more believable parts of the show.

On a different note, I remember one episode Danny literally bribed his kids to stomach his girlfriends cooking, and the weird food in question was just stuff like goat cheese & pesto. And this was a well-off family living in fucking San Francisco. Unbelievable.

The Steve Harvey Show
Living Single
My wife and kids
The Wayen's Brothers
Married with Children
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Cleveland Show
The King of Queens
Everybody loves Raymond

All of them had houses and apartments that should by all logic not be affordable to them for what little they do or what job they have and yet here we are.

chandler was implied to be well off in terms of money so he could afford his apartment
he didnt even need a room mate he just didnt want to live alone as seen by him basically paying for everything joey did including head shots.

and monicas apartment was rent controlled so it was a friggin steal
and by the end of the series they all are at points in their career where affording the apartments was within reason

Danny and his wife probably bought the house in the late 70s-early 80s when it was most likely a lot less than $1 million. And since Danny hosted Wake Up San Francisco, he could have easily afforded the mortgage.

Plus HIMYM

An architect maybe could afford his half (definitely once he gets promoted to project manager after wowing the guys that Bryan Cranston showed his penis design to), even though he literally quits after a few years, but a third-year Columbia law student who is very clearly not working (prior to getting a job at Barney's bank like four seasons in) can somehow afford his half of a great apartment in the upper west side? No way.

or how lily could afford an apartment big enough to convert into a chinese restaurant on a kindergarten teachers salary (she doesnt even life in her apartment she lives in teds unofficially)

at least in season 2 she gets an apartment that is something she could realistically afford on her salary

I always bring this up that those shows are terrible because they don't have any realistic means when it comes to housing. That alone changes the whole story of the show majority of the scenarios they confronted I the show wouldn't exist because of the area they live in. Macolm in the middle is as close as realistic as you can get on a TV show to real life comparison.

You guys are looking at things from today's super inflated perspective.

At most, that house was probably $150k-$200k tops in the 80s. Plus, a talk show host was definitely bringing in at least 6 figures even back then.
