I was actually going to respond to the second quoted post earlier with the same answer as the first post, but got sidetracked. Pew Pew may be off-putting with its ammo hogging and subsequent small clip size, but it's still the most brutal EC-consuming weapon in the game. I actually let those downsides put me off to it until my last playthrough because I'm usually incredibly stingy with my ammo, and I'm glad I finally gave it another chance. It's one of those things where you have to play it a bit for yourself and see how delightfully powerful it is. Just be sparing with it and save it for finishing off high-DT enemies who get a little too close, or mid-range sneak attacks.

I'm a little disappointed I killed the Legion camp before getting their Unarmed trick. Haven't tried the Khan one yet, the NCR one is a straight bitch to get to hit.

It does remind me of my single proudest Fallout moment, though.

3, Point Lookout or whatever has those Hills Have Eyes looking motherfuckers.

One charges me with a sledgehammer, I do the retreating power attack with Jingwei's Shock Sword.

Perfectly slice off the hand holding the hammer like a fucking Jedi.

Ah, Vault 3, site of a rather unfortunate accident involving a High Yield Time Bomb. Also found, a pile of corpses with wounds consistent with a .22 Silenced Pistol.

Culling enemies with a .22 does highlight a bit of weakness with the AI though. Instead of going on high alert the moment a body is found the enemies just let you casually stroll about the place and find them in isolated spots.

Vault 11's so damn good, it's one of my favorite gaming memories. Vault 34 too, I loved creepy intensity of constant radiation.

Not for nothing, but while I see Fallout 4 as an overall improvement on the hot mess that was 3 and would defend it appropriately, holy hell did they drop the ball down a sewer drain with 4's Vaults. At least 3 had Vault 87, which was one of the few true highlights of the game.

The Vault under Malden in Fallout 4 had promise, but they should have pushed the 'time trials' angle more, and possibly given the player a reward for getting the high score on the course. Or maybe instead of a reward you enter a reward chamber and find out more of the story of what happened at the very end, maybe with a location clue that leads you somewhere else that has an actual reward for your time investment.

Sucks that your autosave got corrupted. But a good (if hard) lesson to make a hardsave every 5-10 min whenever you're playing a Beth game. I turn autosaves off now by default, they've been unreliable ever since Oblivion.

I usually save the Omerta and White Glove quests until endgame, since they're a lot of fun and don't have loot rewards that I've just gotta have early-on.

I always assumed that my Couriers were just so good at misdirection that they could get a casino guard to fall for a 'hey, look over there!' every single time. It's better than the alternative rationale of believing that said Couriers could smuggle a power fist up their asses.

I don't want to oversell it, but Where's the Beef is definitely one of the better quests.

Just be aware of a potential bug involving casinos in general: 'improved holdout weapons' given to companions will disappear from their inventory forever. The scripts are bugged and will not give them back. So you have to keep all 'improved' weapons in your own inventory, or store them elsewhere before going into the casinos.

If you have access to console commands you can toggle clipping near the cash cage in Gomorrah's and find 3 safes behind the walls there which are where the game stores items confiscated by all of the casinos(1 for you, 1 for a human companion, and 1 for EDE).

Medicine Stick is the kind of gun you build a character around. Take Cowboy and the VATS perks and target the head and nothing will stand against you. Even Rawr was an easy fight.
