If you want to - make sure you do it if you can. It's amazing

If you have - when/where did you do it and what did you think?

(Yes, partly a stealth brag topic but also actually interested)

I died once trying to do it. That life ended too soon so I haven't tried it in this one.

I want to, but I'm like 20 pounds over the limit and I can't lose it no matter what I try :/

Calories in vs calories out man. You and anyone else can do it. It's HARD if you have no self control but sadly it isn't rocket science

Roommate went for his birthday about 4 years ago. Asked if any of us wanted to go. Seeing as I'm mildly afraid of heights I had no intention of ever skydiving but figured that I'd never just decide to up and go myself but if someone were offering to take me I might as well go. Not an opportunity that comes around too often.

So I went. It was cool. Wasn't nervous until it was time to jump out of the plane but I figured that I had a professional attached to me, I'm unlikely to die, so let's just jump. Kinda sore after due to the whiplash of course but it wasn't anything major. Fun experience but not worth the cost imo (was about $250 if I recall correctly). We did it through the university skydiving club I believe. But hey, least I can say I did it.

Yep, I went early last year for a friend's bday. It was absolutely exhilarating and much smoother than I would have guessed (I'd say the average roller coaster is way "rougher" on the body than a skydiving freefall). The parachute portion was a little rough on the junk since I was strapped in so tightly, but the maneuvering and tricks the instructor pulled off during that part were also really cool.

Overall, I fucking loved it and would recommend anyone to try. I've been wanting to do it again, but definitely in a different city. I'll also never pay for video again, since that's what drives the cost way up and isn't worth it after the first time.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I did this in Oahu once. It's one hell of a way to get a bird's eye view of the whole island at once! There's really nothing that can compare to that experience.

I would love to go skydiving once in my life, but nobody wants to go with me. Char's too chicken, my friends are too broke, and my parents are too old (so they say anyway).

So XIII if you ever find yourself in the southeastern states..............

I've wanted to do it for a while, although once I learned you have to do partnered (tandem?) runs to start with it took the wind out of my sails

I did just look up some prices, and it's not quite as expensive as I thought
---
You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

It's absolutely fine. Bunjee jumping is honestly scarier than a tandem skydive.

Useful to start with tandem tbh. Would have hated to start just doing it alone

I thought you have to do like 5 tandem jumps before being able to go solo

Although in other countries you could prob arrange a solo first time jump... have fun with that I guess

On the topic, yeah I went skydiving, it was super interesting because I hated every second I was in the air, but once I came down and digested what happened I was really glad to have done it. It was a really cool visceral example of how we as humans don't always realize we're having fun when we are having fun.

I also got the added benefit of filming myself. The guy filming me told me to wave my arms out like I was swimming, and I was certain I did. After rewatching the video, I was surprised to see that I had not, and in fact I was making a more reserved "drowning puppy" or "boxing nun" motion instead.
