IF they followed the lore of the Buffy-verse, at the end of BtvS: Season 7.

Every women who could be a Slayer, would be a Slayer.

Ergo, literally thousands of women around the World became "Slayers".

They can literally focus on a new Black Female lead for "BtvS: The Next Generation"

bullshit.

many scenes ripped from the series, well done CGI, solid plot.

I really don't see how a GiTS fan could hate the movie. I say this as a diehard GiTS fan.

She's not allowed to play a trans character either. That role must go to one of the many avaialble trans actors like...um...Chaz Bono or....Chaz...Bonoooo.

(Sidenote, Chaz actually is a very capable actor who's roles have surprised me with how well he delivered.)

Because of coarse details like that have never been changed or ignored for the inverse... It's a fucking android. It doesn't have a race. It can be anything. Just admit you're ok with one and not the other. At the very least it would be honest which would be a nice change of pace from people like you.

Wellllll wasn't Buffy originally supposed to be a "parody" in that instead of the blonde cheerleader always being a damsel and killed in horror movies, she was the kickass fighter killing horror monsters? That irony was also why she was called "Buffy". Her type of character would normally be killed in this genre but instead she's a badass fighter.

Pretty sure I read something like that a long time ago.

I don't care about Buffy being whitewashed, but to be fair, GitS was a Japanese creation whereas Buffy wasn't a 'white' creation. It was American, and American includes both white and black people.

Really, though, I wish they'd just continue the story and make her a new slayer, since the world has so much more to explore and we really don't need to rehash out the same story for no reason. Not only that, but I'm sure plenty of the original actors would show up for cameos, especially since they've all been set up as such important parts of the setting.

2018 and people still don't get how turning a white character black is good because it adds representation but turning a black character white is bad because it takes away representation.

context is everything. not everything is a double standard. sometimes one way is fine but the other way isn't. that's just how it goes.

Adding reprensation by taking it away doesn't count.
If you say context is everything, then perspective moderates that context.

Rarely are there justified complaints about adding or making new, fully fleshed out characters.

This excuse (which is all it is) would work alot better if black people weren't already over represented in media. If you were actually interested in being fair, you'd be promoting a Hispanic or Asian lead. Since they actually are underrepresented.

ffs why don't people get that the scarjo gits is a western adaptation for western audiences?

did they really want the voices to be in Japanese too or did they want it to be a a lvie action Japanese movie like those guys over there tend to do with a lot of their animes, like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSy2NzKK-8A" data-time="

cos Japanese movie makers had plenty of time to have made a movie if people were so concerned about white ppl doing it

Blonde hair doesn't occur naturally in the Japanese, so you got me there, but there's she doesn't even enough realistic facial features to categorize as any race.

How about the native Japanese man vs a random European from Sword of the Stranger.

and it's not an excuse, it's a legitimate explanation. you just don't like it because i dunno it makes you feel bad or something.
