I guess I would be but I'm still young enough that it hasn't happened or if it has that I haven't remembered. It helps that I graduated college before high school so I was already one of the more accomplished graduates in my class.
That said, there's good reason that something like this might make you feel good. If the younger generations are showing signs of improvement than maybe we'll advance more as a population. --- "I, Garland, will knock you all down!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's upsetting, yeah, but events like the economic meltdown of 08 changing my life trajectory at a critical juncture was totally out of my hands. It's just shitty that the stuff I was working on then had lost momentum by the time crowd funding could have changed things.

I'm a little jealous of anyone who is doing better than me regardless of age. But not like it eats me up inside or like I hate them for it... Just that feeling of "Gee, THAT must be nice."

Sure, especially because many of them had advantages I never received. A lot of the kids who have PhDs by 20 were home-schooled or privately tutored while I was stuck in public education so I was just working on my bachelors at that point. And then you have celebrity children like Rowan Farrow and Kylie Jenner whose family opens doors so they can experience extremely early success, the kind of stuff that other people would need to work a lifetime to achieve and even then it's not a guarantee.
Then there are people who are where I am now but at a younger age because they lucked out and had a few opportunities that weren't available to me, which is annoying but not nearly as big a deal. And in general, where everybody is now matters less than where we'll be tomorrow so those minor successes aren't as big a deal. It's mostly just the guys who leapfrog the system because they didn't get stuck in the quagmire known as the American public education system that I'm really jealous of because they got an earlier start on their careers. --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ...
