Mumen Rider, Indiana Jones, Daredevil, Dark Magician, Guts, Emperor Palpatine and Duke Togo have been trapped in the Cube! Location of the fight: The Cube - The structure as seen in the original Cube film. All mercs will begin in the starting chamber with no information provided to them and no knowledge how they arrived. Who will escape?

Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence), focusing on how the characters would function in a real-time environment.

- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.

- There may be SPOILERS from all of the shows/movies the characters are from.

Rules for Voting

- Bold your votes (using bold HTML tags).

- You do not need to require justification for your vote, though the admins reserve the right to disqualify votes in the advent of obvious alt voting and other similar scenarios.

- Leaders cannot vote for their own teams, but they are free to argue their case.

- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.

- This match will end in 24 hours.

All mercs have been brought to the starting room of the Cube. There are no teams, everyone will work at their own discretion.

Rather than voting for a team, vote on which mercs you think will be able to escape the Cube alive.

Mumen Rider is as he appears in One-Punch Man, with access to the Bicycle of Justice and all of his techniques.

Indiana Jones is as he appears during his first three films. He carries his trusty bullwhip, a revolver and a satchel to carry loot in.

Daredevil is seen in his TV series (no comic feats) carrying his billy club and wearing his most upgraded armor.

The Dark Magician is as it appears in the Egypt arc of Yu-Gi-Oh!, though it has all feats from the card game. It may freely generate Magical Hats and utilize Thousand Knives, though Thousand Knives does not instantly kill and he can never generate more than four hats at a time.

Guts is as seen up to the Fantasia arc of Berserk. He comes to battle fully-healed and rested, weilding the Dragonslayer, and wearing the Berserker Armor.

Emperor Palpatine is as he appears in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, with his lightsaber and all abilities seen therein and in Return of the Jedi.

Duke Togo is as he appears in the Golgo 13 animated series and movies, carrying a revolver and his custom M16. He has been hired to kill Guts. This is his sole objective in the fight, he will attempt to do so by any means possible and will leave if he succeeds.

ok I definitely trust Indy to make it out alive.

Palpatine could probably use ~the force~ to sense traps and find the way, but he ALSO would kill the others if they got in his way.

dark magician has the tools to survive but I just don't see it, i dunno

I can't help but think Palpatine would have loads of fun with all the inner strife Guts is sporting

Mumen Rider is definitely dead. Dude's got spirit but that bike isn't doing much in small cube rooms

Daredevil definitely has the ability to get through, he'd easily sense the traps, that's like his whole thing. He'd also be able to hear the Cube moving (and specifically where it's moving) so he probably has the biggest advantage.

Indiana Jones is like a less good Daredevil. He might survive but not if he runs into literally any other person in the Cube

Dark Magician is a weird case. I think he could magic out the Cube but I also don't know that he'd be able to figure out how to escape

Guts could tank most of the traps, but again, I don't think he could figure out how to escape.

Palpatine is weird. I can't see him not immediately trying to kill others. I don't know a ton about him though, other than he's powerful.

Duke Togo would fail to kill Guts, and will eventually die along the way.

Right now the only one I'm confident would survive is Daredevil

Out of these guys, Daredevil wouldn't fight anyone off the bat, neither would Indy, neither would Mumen. Palps would probably think he could manipulate all the darkness in Guts, no need to kill him yet. Guts is busy immediately killing Duke. I don't know anything about Dark Magician's personality

Dark Magician wouldn't attack anyone immediately, but would immediately attack anyone starting a fight (ie Palpatine, probably)

I think if Indy gets out, Daredevil definitely does, but I'm not sure if Indy survives a Palpatine attack

Indy, Daredevil These are the only two i'm sure that would have the advantage on surviving a maze. I could be convinced on some of the others, given proper arguments, but this is the immediate first of.

So if everyone's plopped in a small room, I feel like they all will take a moment to get a read on each other before anything commences. Duke is an assassin, I don't think he'd go after Guts until he had a clear shot. Daredevil would read hearts, figure out Mumen's a good guy, Indy's a good guy, the three of them would take off. Palps and Guts would annoy the fuck out of each other, but Palps would think he's a useful tool. Dark Magician does whatever

Palps talks Mumen into heroically leading the way into the first trap, Mumen dies. I still don't think the group would break into fisticuffs yet, though this would be the end of anyone trusting Palps. Eventually Duke is going to try to take his shot at Guts...unfortunately Guts is really good at sniffing that stuff out, Duke dies. Palpatine gloats about the DARKNESS and whatnot

I think the remainder probably get near to the end by following Daredevil and Indy, but Palps is eventually going to piss Guts off and trigger his rage mode. Dark Magician dies trying to help Guts, Guts and Palps get incinerated via fighting in a deathtrap.

Indy and Daredevil are 100% A-OK getting out of the Cube. I'm leaning toward Palpatine making it out too -- I don't think he picks a fight here since there's no advantage for him to do so.

So what have we learned?

Indiana and Daredevil are in their proper element with the abilities and/or skills needed and are considered free choices.

The emperor is a 50/50% dependent on how well the argument is for him, and the final upkeep per week that is settled on for him.

Everyone else gets bricked hard.

And Duke Togo should have declined the target, and just let the cube do the work.

Guts would shine more in a straight combat setting, he's WAY out of his element in a giant puzzle cube

Mumen Rider's whole thing is that he's super determined but a wimp

Palpatine I'd also lean toward more in a straight combat setting than this (though I am wondering if perhaps 6/week is too high for him? I don't really watch enough Star Wars to say)

Palpatine seems to get respect enough to beat most everyone he's up against fightwise. Here though he'd pretty much be the guy everyone gangs up on once he proves to be overly evil

Like, I think Palpatine could probably manage it skillwise, but I also don't think he can avoid pissing off Guts and provoking a fight to the death before he gets there

I don't think if Palpatine was trapped in this cube he'd waste time conniving or really doing anything with any of these other people. He'd just get out, I actually think HE'D be out first just from speed, force cognition and overall strength there really isn't anything I recall from the first cube that could stop him.

Ordinarily I'd agree, except Guts has so much Dark Side in him that I don't think there's any way Palps could stop himself from going into puppetmaster mode
