Thats what I figure. I find it hard to believe that the slaves wont ultimately be the heroes of the show and will likely end with the abolishment of slavery.

personally I don't know that slavery would still exist in the modern day. they would move on to machines and then robots that never get tired and don't need to be fed. I think slavery would have phased out eventually.

yea he's telling the truth. Man in the High Castle is a show on Amazon Prime, set in the 60's about an america that lost WW2. the nazis own the east coast and the japanese own the west. the show goes back and forth and shows life on both coasts under the different regimes and about how americans cope in life as a conquered people

they are assuming that

1. the show will still have modern day 2018 slaves

2. that the show is gonna for some reason promote the slavery and make it look cool, just cause it happens on the show. they forget that bad things happen in like every show. that doesn't mean it's condoned. when someone is murdered on a show, the show doesn't condone the murder. it's a negative event in the plot and is portrayed for drama purposes as a sad thing that effects the story.

Jim Crow may have extended further into the 1980's, but I think eventually it would have ended too

America is already a prudish Conservative country that's obsessed with guns and The Bible so that would just a be a bit more pronounced.

the most famous alt history novelist, Harry Turtledove wrote a very long series of books about this same idea of a successful CSA. and he isn't alt right. he's just a damn good writer.

This, though I would think the show would be fair and make the confederates 3 dimensional with some of them being outright racists while others feeling compassion for the slaves, etc... if it wants to be an interesting show.
