This is one of the weirder posts I've seen lately. If you felt like you had to reply affirmatively you could have just said "ok." It's like you were trying to name drop Putin as if you knew him but the post you're quoting already specifically mentioned him

It's kind of a bummer the All-Star break hits with the Rockies being on a five-game winning streak. Oh well hopefully my guys Arenado, Blackmon and Story can help the NL not embarrass itself yet again

I saw Ant Man and the Wasp. Very good. I'm biased because Paul Rudd is one of my favorite actors but I think the general consensus is that it was very good.

It was definitely very good and much better than the first one. It's sort of awful that were saying things like this but I agree with Ultima that it is a top half MCU movie.

I have been playing Octopath Traveler all weekend and I have thoughts.

Pro:

-amazing music
-great aesthetics
-excellent turn based battle system
-good writing/characters

Con:

-because of level scaling you're basically required to collect all 8 heroes before moving on in any of their stories. I've got 6 of them now and every time I stop playing because I feel like it and not because I have something to do I do so right when I reach the next hero. This is because I'm going to have to play through their origin story which means maybe 20 minutes of reading is coming my way. They're nice stories and they're important to enjoying the game but it's becoming pretty draining. After that you've got another 40 minutes or so to play out the conflict in their stories (note: I'm not timing this, just guessing). At least you get your party and you crawl a dungeon for those but the structure is very repetitive.

-fellow party members don't show up in the cutscenes for each other's stories. It's weird. You'll run up to a boss room for Therion's origin with your lead character in front and three others behind him, then the cutscene begins and only Therion is standing there. It's odd to me that they couldn't make this work so that at least your lead character would be in the shot and chime in once or twice.

Anyway, the game is definitely good but seems extremely long so I probably won't finish it. I'm just very ready to have all of the octopath travelers.

I can never rank the Marvel movies because I can't remember them all well enough at once because there are so many. I do think there was a large increase in consistent quality after Winter Soldier though

Question about Octopath: Do you get to use all 8 in battle at once or do you use part of the party at once? I don't like it when JRPGs make you choose who to use

You get up to four. You have to have your lead character in the party at all times and you have to have someone in your party if you're playing one of their chapters

Sigh.

The fights are long already. Scaling these encounters for 8 guys sounds like an absolute nightmare. They'd have like 14 enemies in an encounter just so you couldn't win on the first turn

Yeah. There aren't many where you don't pick your party. Golden Sun was like that and Golden Sun: The Lost Age was for most of it. I like using everyone.

What about like Bioware games or other Western RPGs where you pick a party?

Those do not cause the same anxiety, though at the same time I don't usually play those kind of games

Marcus Stroman posted a picture with his dad in a pool, and I remembered how ridiculously, superhumanly large Stroman's dad is.

We should get him in the Home Run Derby.

It would be better if Neil DeGrasse Tyson was there instead, live tweeting about how it's all thanks to physics that they were able to design baseballs to fly far. He could also bring up how home runs are often referred to as "moonshots" for the perfect segue into facts about the moon

*NDT voice* Home runs are called moon shots, but they never get anywhere near the moon. They'd have to reach escape velocity off the bat and at that speed the ball would disintegrate instantly.

Hey Bryce actually won, that's pretty cool.

Well that was fun. Harper absolutely exploded at the end to come back and win. He homered on 9 straight swings.

I said he looks like an MMA guy but that works too.

Not a lot to report from the softball game this time but Carlos Pena's swing is still beautiful and naturally he did hit a homer

Also this shouldn't be surprising but John Wall is extremely fast for a player in that game. Also Josh Norman made a funny DB jumping catch. Tim Kurkjian scored a run too which was funny, he really hustled. Overall, it was exactly as entertaining as every other time they've done it

I didn't realize it was all today so I missed it. It's one of those things where I say I'll watch it because it's a once a year thing and then it comes around and I say, "Maybe next year".

We had all that shaving chat a little while back so now I'm here to say that my Harry's razors trial pack came in. I have now shaved with a manual razor and gel for the first time in my life and... It's great! My skin feels baby smooth

I've tried both electric and manual and always felt manual leaves me with a smoother shave. I do shave my head with an electric razor and finish it with a manual to get it smooth.

Isn't that how everyone does it if they're going for the 100% clean shaven bald look? That's what Walter White does anyway....not using shaving cream would be more terrifying to me than not using it on your scalp

How is Trout so consistently good in All-Star games too, it's crazy

Welp the NL is going to lose again but at least Trevor Story hit a home run
