I left out K-JAH because there are only ten poll options and I figured that one would be least likely to be anyone's favorite. (Anyone here at least.)

I honestly liked pretty much all the stations, but Radio Los Santos was my favorite. And K-Rose was probably second; most of the country songs chosen for the game are great.

I don't remember what Jane's Addiction was, but Cult of Personality was the shit. One of the best songs in the game.

If I'm going to be honest, I thought San Andreas had the weakest stations out of any of the games I've played in the series (mainly just GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA5).

I probably wound up listening to WCTR more than anything (I always love the talk stations in most of the game, and in SA there was the added appeal that different tracks would get added as you unlocked new cities - there were bits that would play in Las Venturas that you wouldn't hear while you were still stuck in Los Santos).

Though outside of the talk channel, I probably listened to CSR 103.9 the most just because I prefer the "Motownphilly" sort of sound to most of the harder gangsta or reggae stuff on the other channels. Though I also liked a fair number of songs on Radio X. I'd usually channel hop until I found one of those two channels playing a song I liked, then would default to talk if there was nothing I liked on any channel.

And I disliked that the "flashback" station they had (K-DST) was almost all 70s stuff - I spend a lot of time on the flashback stations in other games (GTA3) because I love 80s music, and Vice City is pretty much my favorite soundtrack of all the game because it's almost entirely that. This is also why I spend most of my time in GTA5 on either Non-Stop-Pop FM or Los Santos Rock Radio (though I do make occasional excursions over to Radio Mirror Park and West Coast Classics, and I obviously love WCTR and Blaine County Radio.

That's funny; I was going to say San Andreas had one of the best soundtracks. I played the same ones you did and did enjoy them, but I like San Andreas' music the most.

I think that compared to Vice City it was definitely a huge step down. The Vice City soundtrack really felt like it embodied the 80's and if I am being honest probably shaped the love of 80's music I have to this day. In theory I should love San Andres more since I grew up in the 90's but it honestly felt like they just threw a bunch of late 80's/early 90's songs together and called it a day. Hell, they didn't even really have a grunge station in the time period when grunge was at it's peek.

The talk radio on San Andreas was much better then Vice City though, I will give it that.

Pretty much everything but Csr.

Radio X kind of fills the 90s rock vibe. But I think a lot of it came down to licensing issues with artist. If they went back and made a 90s GTA it would probably be more on point with the music given the nature of licensed music in video games now. Although growing up in California at the same time as GTA:SA I did get nostalgic for what it did, and how everything is portrayed. Area 53 with Marvin Trill (Coast 2 Coast AM in GTA:SA) is really kino.

I'm not really a fan of the "urban" sound, and that's like 90% of the music.

I get it - you're going for a 90s LA/ghetto aesthetic based on movies like Do the Right Thing and Boyz n the Hood, with a black main character who grew up in the 'hood and with strong gang influences. The music is more than appropriate for the setting. I just don't like the music as much personally.

Vice City, on the other hand, is rooted in the 80s, so it's a different aesthetic. And I'm a huge fan of 80s music in general, so that appeals to me way more.

Technically, that was the role of Radio X, but it was kind of offset by the fact that it was also half alt-rock and industrial.

Its my favorite GTA game so i listened pretty much every radiostation a lot. K Rose would sound awesome when you exiled to country side and just hopping the hills on bike, doing missions for that crazy Mexican chick.
Other than that Radio Los Santos or Radio X
