some jackass was taking up four spots during xmas one year at the babe dispensary (mall) so i chadded on over to customer service and this aging belle was like "outrageous!" and the tow truck drivers actually hang out in this one area there because it's central in the city and just got the call and hauled the fucker's new BMW outta there. it was like two christmases for me that year

Personally, I think it should be legal to vandalize cars that are blocking driveways or parked in bike lanes. Maybe only the offending part of the car, though, just for fun. You see a car with just the front 6" all keyed up? You know why.

we share a driveway, is why i said my neighbor.

Tow trucks take time, though, during which the offender can come back and leave. Vandalism provides an immediate means by which to punish the offender.

I remember once on Rescue Me a guy had parked in front of a fire hydrant; well, turned out there was a fire and the crew needed to access that hydrant. They just smashed both rear windows and ran the (slightly leaky) hose through the back seat. According to Denis Leary, that's really happened multiple times in the FDNY, they just don't give a fuck and will wreck your car to save people. I admire that.

My preferred punishment is to remove the valve cores from their tires. Easy for them to fix, if they have a valve tool in their car. But how many people carry such a useful thing with them? (I mean, besides me, of course)

When I had a beater car I would usually park right next to their driver side door so that they couldn't get in. Hell, one time I parked so close to someone I had to climb out my trunk.

Now that I have a halfway decent car though, I typically just rip their side mirrors off or something, then park somewhere else so they don't know it was me.

It's against the law in Calgary. Call them in. I always did.

The law also states that if they can't fit in one, they are allowed to use two. If it's paid, they have to pay for both.

I think it's section 17 b or c in Calgary by-law. If you're not in Calgary, it would be worth looking into for your city.

Not sure why you figure that. I'm reasonably tall and that writing was around eye level. Wasn't a lifted truck. Could not properly bear weight on my left foot or bend the foot to any great angle.

Only got in by putting my door against their vehicle, thankfully on those big ass bars

Earlier today there was a woman trying to drive through a narrow loading area for store deliveries, and she got upset because there was a truck blocking the end. Actually tried to get them to move for her.

When I was driving a 15 passenger van for work, I would park it where I could at home. Some people across the street kept giving me shit about it. One day I came out and there were two cars. Both within 2 of my bumpers.

Too bad I had a V8 and their car was a 2 seater convertible. I just pushed it out of my way. (There was a good 10 in front of it).

They never bothered me or tried parking me in again.

You're lucky that they didn't call the cops. I support what you did though. People like that are morons. If somebody isn't being blocked then people should not complain.

Some of those don't even look like bad parking. Also the ones that used paint are even bigger assholes.

note that it can also be that the badly parked car had to park that way due to another badly parked car. then the original car leaves leaving the second car looking like the jerk.

also in the winter, all bets are off and you just park wherever you fit
