drove 95/US 17 through South Carolina last week and I-95 was in worst shape than nearly every semi rural highway I have ever passed through in Georgia it was semi scary to pass through at night tbh (17 wasn't great but seemed to be in a little bit more decent shape)

What's super irritating about it is that one highway will have literal potholes and undulations everywhere and they will still opt to repave the pristine highway instead.

To me the biggest example of this is when it snows here on the border between Missouri and Arkansas; Missouri side is always plowed, the Arkansas side is undriveable because our attitude here is that we just shut down everything and wait for there to not be snow

I've been on that highway a few times, the abandoned cars on the side of the road are creepy.
