What was your first shiny Pokemon ever?

Red Gyarados doesn't count.

Mine was a drowzee in Silver version. I came across it, did a weird Sparkle thing and was wondering why the hell he was reddish. Thought it was a glitch, so I just caught him

Chain fishing for a Dragalge, finally got one.

I feel like it doesn't count though since the rates were buffed in X/Y and I "went out of my way" to shiny-hunt, as opposed to the joy of stumbling upon one randomly.

I never found one pre-X/Y buff. Closest I got was my buddy finding a shiny Shroomish in his Emerald version.

I was playing a Firered romhack on my phone - nothing that would tip the Shiny scales in my favor, just a 386 Pokemon modification. I found a shiny Pidgey in the wild - it was the first Pokemon I encountered with Pokeballs, and I caught it. I think I called it Sparkles.

The first naturally occuring shiny I encountered in a Pokemon game was a Houndour in Pokemon Crystal. I was looking for a Houndour for what felt like hours - it's one of my favorite Pokemon, and I wanted to raise a Houndoom on my team. And the one time I actually got a Houndour, it had a blue muzzle instead of an orange one.

That son of a bitch fled before I could capture it. I wasn't just out of a shiny, I was out of a fucking Houndour. I was pissed.

And before that, I read about the Daycare egg having an unusually high Shiny rate. So I saved outside the daycare, got the egg, hatched it and reset until I got a shiny. But that was willfully playing the odds.

Shiny mareep in the grass area right in front of the red gyarados. Young me ran from it assuming a lot of pokemon had that shiny thing in this area.

Sentret I think, unless you count the gyarados that you can always get in GS.

I got a ton of shinies in GS, probably close to a dozen or so. Never encountered one since then in any other game.

Zangoose, from a horde battle in X. Lucky it wasn't in Y because I don't think I could have saved it from the Seviper.

My nephew borrowed my copy of Heart Gold and caught a shiny Mareep as one of his first Pokmon.

Magnemite in Emerald was the first I ever caught

I ran into 3 shinies in the LG Safari Zone and all ran.

I was actually doing a Nuzlocke, and while I still caught it, I just put it straight in the box. Already had a Granbull on my team at that point anyway, which ended up being my best Pokemon throughout the run.

Charmander in FireRed. I soft reset for it probably thousands of times.

I did get a wild shiny Psyduck later in the same game. He was my 2nd most wanted shiny at the time too, behind Charizard.

Blue didn't have shinies...

I've never even seen one despite playing every single generation, including all the remakes. Sucks.

It was a level forty-nine Pidgeotto I found on Five Island in Pokemon FireRed. I immediately used a Rare Candy to evolve it. Pidgeot looks pretty good in gold.

I encountered a shiny Lairon on Victory Road, but it Roar'd me away.

I haven't found another one in a while, but I still get shinies from stuff like Smogon give-aways.

Brother found a shiny Golbat that also had the Pokerus virus. I got to train it and add it to my party.

Im STILL pissed because a shiny Heracross escaped me right before I encountered that lame ass Oddish. Heracross was one of the ones I knew for sure I wanted in my party for when my roommate and I would battle one day. Would have been so awesome if I had confronted his ass with a shiny Heracross.
