When he escaped the police van and blew himself up pretty much, tilda explains how damage he is. Then she gives him the super nightshade and she tells him to take it slowly cause taking it all could have serious drawbacks. He came off as a kind of ~~punisher character honestly. He was never really the antagonist, the stokes were always the antagonists~~. I so agree about shades and Mariah, I think it's gross mainly because Mariah just isn't attractive at all and comes off as a cougar. Shades was blinded by being gay and trying to fight it. Mariah, been with a gay man before and knew it the whole time. She just saw shades as a asset she could manipulate. She never really loved him. I felt shades had a nice arc that has been forth coming ever since ~~pops barbershop got shot up~~ like went from thinking he was invincible to becoming humble and realizing he had to step up to save Harlem in a different way besides using his power. ~~the coffee machine talk with his dad~~ it was more revolved around Luke accepting who he was and fulfilling his purpose. And keep in mind that his one real win was after he blindsided Luke, after which Luke was fighting pretty sloppy.
