i dont think anyone knows, even the doctor. I've been on antibiotics, several of them, since I got here and so far it's just made my area slightly less red. everything I've read and been told about cellulitis is that it responds fast to antibiotics, in that there should have been a noticible effect by now. --- up ahead there was a curve approaching she made no indications of slowing. ... one of my ivs started leaking so they just took it out and used one of the various other iv ports I have. good thing is that it was the one on my right arm, so now I have an entirely free arm and it's wonderful.

White blood cells are good, but elevated white blood cell counts are an indicator that your body is fighting infection, and monitoring the levels can give you an idea of where you're at in the healing process.
