Starting with the first press conference today, how many hours of live E3 video do you plan to watch over the next week?

None at all, I won't be watching any of it live, just the highlights later
1-3 hours, just one or two of the big shows
4-6 hours, a few of the press conferences, maybe some floor shows
7-12 hours, most all of the conferences, and lots of other live video
13+ hours, I'll be watching live E3 streams all week

Do people actually think about these polls or just type whatever? Because this is not how a real poll works... If someone can't find an answer that suits them, you are doing it wrong. Yet lately it seems like every poll is like this.

And before someone says, no, not voting is not the same as not caring. Completely different meanings there.

they easily could have included "i won't be watching any of it"

Well, since the question was talking about how many hours or E3 are you watching live, the first answer would work. I can also say that I believe about more than half of those who votes that wont probably wont watch the highlights. And mostly likely all who voted that will also be watching any E3 live... So, while its not the perfect answer, thats the answer you would go with since its saying you wont watch any live. If they dont wanna choose that because it mentions the highlights, then theyre just whining to whine.

Well thanks for the info. But I confess that this puzzled me, as the url on the PoTD redirects here. And while I did always wondered why no one on the board discussed the PoTD, I have no idea why the link redirects here when there's a more appropriate forum. GameFAQs has been famous for its over zealous mods and admins. Hasn't anyone considered that it would be better to change the URL?

And I'm sorry if people got annoyed by my thread. I work with statistics for a living and there's such a thing as a poll that encompasses every possible position. Health related studies often have to do this or otherwise the data would be useless.

In this particular case, one simple option that allowed the user to choose "I don't follow E3" would have sufficed. And contrary to what many believe, know what proportion of the users that vote don't follow such an event is quite interesting, since there's a prevailing idea that the E3 is the event that shapes the releases calendar. And while it may be so for most gamers, it would be interesting to understand how many don't actually give much attention to it at all.

And I'm sorry if people got annoyed by my thread. I work with statistics for a living and there's such a thing as a poll that encompasses every possible position. Health related studies often have to do this or otherwise the data would be useless.

Nah, I should apologize for being an ass. It's just that we don't actually make the polls and we occasionally get a lot of users coming in to complain about certain polls, so we don't have much patience here.

I agree, especially on the parts, "If someone can't find an answer that suits them, you are doing it wrong" and "not voting is not the same as not caring." I feel that many people who write polls have become narrow-minded and discriminatory, and people who said to just not vote or participate are usually narrow-minded and discriminatory, too. From what I've learned, polls should be inclusive. If they are going to be exclusive, then it should be stated.

I can guarantee you'll pay attention to any major announcements that interest you, even if you don't care enough about E3 to actively follow it. People who care so little about E3 that they won't even pay attention to highlights after the fact aren't likely to be hanging out on a gaming website.

While true, you have to remember that this poll is polling pretty much the same audience every day. Even if there isn't an option that appropriately encapsulates not caring at all, and such an option might be useful information, that information can be extrapolated by comparing the vote total to the usual numbers. It's not perfect, no, but it does the job for such an informal thing.

You'll pay attention to any announcements that come out of it for stuff you're interested in. You don't have to actually follow E3 for that.

i haven't paid any attention to red dead 2 news, or spiderman, or spyro.

just because i'm interested in a game doesn't mean i'm going to obsess about all the news

You can acknowledge announcements without obsessing about the news. If nothing else, you'd pay attention to a release date announcement.
