TC get a brand new Civic Touring Model for $27,000. Buttload of amenities in a good car and you save $8,000.

Lexus is literally the same thing as Toyota but marked up. You should look into a Camry, Prius, or an Avalon instead.

My parents bought a new Avalon and it is nice as fuck.

for 35k id probably just go with a fully tricked out midsize or large sedan rather than a base model entry-level luxury car, more bang for your buck & cheaper maintenance

If you're gonna go Honda, get the Accord rather than the Civic. Pretty sure all civics below SI are CVT transmissions. Accord has a 10 speed automatic option. CVT is boring as hell to drive.

Shit you right. Forgot that only the base civic has manual.

I test drove a CVT civic and it has the paddle shifters though. Not my cup of tea but they exist.

luxury- a4 or bmw 3. but the 35k price tag is deceiving because you'll end up paying a boatload more on premium gas and frequent and expensive maintenance.

i recommend Accord 2.0T.

civic has mashed potato acceleration

Yeeeaaahhh no. Premium gas isn't that much more expensive and it's better for your car and not sure wtf you're breaking so have expensive maintenance often.

Getting a higher end car generally means higher quality so it lasts longer. Then again you also suggested BMW or an Audi A4 lol.

Well TC DID give a 35k price point. Any new luxury car is gonna be entry level lowest trim at that price.

You can get base models like the bmw 3 series for that price. Kia also has the stinger which is supposed to be their attempt at competing with luxury cars. If you're not looking for a 4 door sedan you could also consider the 86(or BRZ)/Miata. Not "luxury" cars but they are fun to drive.

But honestly, luxury cars have a lot of expenses that come after purchase, so really be sure you're willing to spend that extra money on one. There are plenty of nice cars that can be much friendlier to your wallet.

Doesn't have to be absolutely brand new. Get something a few years older (2-5) and you have a lot more options in the $20-$35k range.

I see, I missed that post. Yeah if he's buying new then he doesn't have a ton of options..... also worth noting that the resale on BMW's and to some extent Audi's isn't that great. Would literally be cheaper to buy a 3 series of A4 a few years older and save the money in case shit did hit the fan. Opposed to new from dealership and prepaid warranty just in case.

But really just go with a car in good condition only a few years old. I wouldn't drive an A4 when I could drive an S4.... that and I'd be cautious with an Audi personally, a lot of electrical gremlins from what I've seen with friends that have them.

I drive an Infiniti G37 and have absolutely zero complaints. Got it for ~$15k said and done at a dealership so relatively affordable esp if you had a budget of 35k. You have a lot of very nice options if you have $35k to spend and shop around.

You are really screwing yourself. Buy a 10k dollar used car with 50-65k miles. Zero car payments. Itll last years. This is what I do anyway. My car is a 2008 I bought it for 10k and havent had payments for 7 years. Car has never been in the shop other than routine maitenence. Just because you spend a shit load of money doesnt mean the car is going to last.

Dont buy some nerd grocery civic or lame car because r personal finance freaks out over anything but that

Get a damn good sexy looking car or something you like. I had a scion tc and got rid of it two years ago. I ended up looking at a lot of sports cars and trucks. A lot of people like challengers and Camaro but I chose a mustang because I like the lighter and slimmer feel of it. And basically every car is good on gas these days anyways
