No, it's because of how much filler carbs are in so many of the foods there. Try eating greasy meat by itself. Now try eating it with bread. You can eat more with bread as it'll take longer for you to tire of the meal. The demonization of fat means tons of sugar and other filler carbs in order to achieve fat-free foods with some flavor. It's hard to feel full on carbs.

This. The sugar and grain producing industry did a great propoganda job in the 50's. People are still treating carbs as things we should be eating on the regular.

Yeah man all of today's top health organizations, doctors, and scientists are still fooled by 50's propaganda. You're definitely not falling for podcast meme diet propaganda.

Oats, fruits, beans, and vegetables should not be eaten on the regular.

No one is referring to those foods when talking about carbs as a problem. Are you a shill for the sugar industry? Your argument is as disingenuous as one a shill would make.

Yes. They are. It's already been proven to you in this topic. So perhaps you're the shill? The idea that most of us should be on a keto diet is very popular at the moment. Especially to those that quote the 50's propaganda.

What if I went around demonizing fat? Then when I'm confronted, I throw up my arms and say I was obviously talking about trans fat. Just say what you mean and stop assuming you know the current narrative and that people will know what you're talking about.

I've already elaborated on what I meant multiple times. There's no need to be so upset.

And others have elaborated that they did indeed mean all carbs when they said carbs are bad. So stop getting upset when those people are addressed.

If I'm hungry, I eat something. When I'm no longer hungry, I stop eating.

...this whole "it's morning/noon/six o' clock, time to eat" thing is never something I've understood.

This. I thought I was the only one who thought this.

I don't think TC realizes how many people don't eat or rarely eat anything in the morning. I've never really even eaten proper breakfasts my entire life.

I have 2 fried eggs and 2 slices of wheat toast for breakfast everyday. I'm also constantly moving at work unless I'm on a smoke break.

Yeah I'm on a restricted calories diet and it's nuts how high in calories typical breakfast meals are. For example, I used to love eating cereal but a bowl including the milk is like 500 calories, lol.

People who are fat are fat because they don't exercise. Nowadays, you see people on all these weird fucked up "diets". They have a shake filled with grass clippings and wood chips and think "ohhh I did good with that!". Then when they go to the bathroom, their shit smells like the deepest darkest depths of hell so they get depressed. That's when they start to over eat and drink a lot of beer.

But in this whole process do they EVER leave the couch? Nope.

To be fair, weight is ~80% what you eat, 20% your activity level.

Even moderate to intense cardio exercise for 30 minutes a day only burns off a couple hundred calories. Meanwhile our basal metabolic rates are 2000 (+/- a standard deviation of 500ish).

So even a person who sat on the couch and did nothing all day will burn 2000 calories by virtue of being alive. 3,500 calories will burn off a pound, so generally speaking if someone gets a 500 calorie deficit per day compared to their baseline, they will lose a pound a week.

So someone could theoretically go run for 45 minutes to an hour every single day of the week and eat the same food and amount they normally do and they'd lose a pound a week. Or they could eat 500 less calories and not change their activity level and lose the same amount of weight in the same time frame.

Personally, I think it's a lot easier to eat 500 calories less per day than to run for an hour every day. And people who are 100 or more pounds overweight, diet is more implicated.

Don't confuse "diet" with fad diets. People can't sustain fad diets. It's better to say change in eating habits.

No that's not even remotely significant compared to other factors. Primarily diet as a whole and a sedentary lifestyle
