I might be biased because I always wanted a Vietnam Far Cry, but it's really good so far. I'd place it just under Blood Dragon but mostly because it was a DLC instead of a stand alone.

It's out on Xbox One and PS4, I heard Steam was having issues.

This feels like the game all the people who rag on Far Cry for being "too samey" should be happy with. The actual Vietnamese use stealth against you, or at least it feels that way due to all the vegetation and the fact that unless you're playing perfectly you lose your marking ability.

Of course, I'm sure most will still bitch because it's an open world FPS and somehow Far Cry is supposed to be something different.

Sounds pretty bad to be honest.

I can't imagine a Vietnam game with the Far Cry Engine.

Far Cry is all about sandbox car chases and explosions and wing-suits and planes and shit.

A platoon wandering around the woods being tormented by terrorists hiding among innocent villagers just doesn't match the gameplay style.

Would be like trying to make a WW1 Trench Warfare game with the Tony Hawks Pro Skater Engine.

I'm not sure if it's still active, but I got Far Cry 3 PS4 with the season pass as well.

Ubisoft doesn't necessarily put the season pass on sale but will put the Gold Edition (which has the Season Pass) on sale. They already did for AC Origins.

I'm really glad they made it so that if your buddies die, they die for good just like in Far Cry 2. It adds so much weight to everything.

I'm not sure if it's still active, but I got Far Cry 3 PS4 with the season pass as well.

I think it still mentions that in the menu as a perk for getting it. While I really liked 3 enough to play through it twice for both endings on PS3 and grind though everything in the game, don't know if it's enough to sell me on buying it right now though considering I've still got so much of 5 left and barely have time for that even with a friend. Also I did that finish 4 or even start Primal other than to finish the into to get the outfit in 5 lol.

Yeah I've noticed that mostly but I was certain I've seen just season passes for them going on sale every now and then. Maybe in thinking of the something else though.

This really should have been expanded and made into Far Cry 5, but knowing how Ubisoft works they would have tried real hard to make it into another Heart of Darkness rip off like in Far Cry 2 and completely ruin it.

I'm playing through it now, it looks really beautiful and I love some of the details, but things that irk me...

1 - The AI is blind. That's not an exaggeration, I just had two GFH standing in front of a guy and he was just pushing them out of the way and I ran up and broke his neck.

2 - There's like zero incentive at all to do any of the side content except for rescuing your fellow POW since they are your GFH. The only thing you get for completing side objectives is air strike tokens and the air strikes aren't even that good, realistically they're only worth using for the achievement and after that there's no point.

I dunno, I had fun trying to do everything in survival mode as fast as I could. I've got my time down to 1:59:07 which I think is pretty cool.

I also like getting the whole picture at the end.

Huh, that's a good point, I can see it being a nice speed run challenge game. Didn't think about that (not how I normally play my games).

I am mad that my one battle buddy died somehow at the end and I didn't get him in my picture.
