If you are beautiful/handsome, it's much, much more likely you'll have an active social life with lots of friends, because people naturally group with good looking people and give them an easier time. Where as it's assumed if you choose a "non socially acceptable hobby" to spend most of your time on, it's because you don't have an active social life with lots of friends, possibly because you were ugly and rejected by most people as a result. --- YOU COULDN'T AFFORD IT! <cite>TigerTycoon posted [p:902324778] in Wherr did ... Most human females (especially in high school), assume that if a guy isn't attractive/athletic, he needs to compensate by having "nerdy" hobbies to get him through his days: Reading, writing, drawing, video games, crafts, science, philosophy, things that don't require looks or athleticism to excel at. Which is very offensive, because a lot of attractive males can have strong interests in those things too. And a lot of ugly guys can still be entirely stupid and boring and also hate sports. At the end of the day, they're just generalizations that allow people to dismiss each other more easily, because getting to know someone and caring about them as a person takes time and effort, and people would rather just not care. --- ~Gamefaqs logic: Q: If it's so obviously a troll topic...why are you responding to it? It wasn't until it seeped into mainstream culture and every asshole you meet claims to be a nerd because they like comic book movies and play video games that you started to see better looking nerds, because now the beautiful people aren't afraid to claim to be nerds (and some, like Olivia Munn and Sara Underwood blatantly exploit nerd culture to become famous).
