I mean, being more similar to the first game is literally what people wanted out of it. I don't really care that the assets and UI didn't get redesigned much, I just want the gameplay and story to not suck like it did in 2 and to a lesser extent 3.

I liked 2's gameplay but yeah just give me more of VC1's storytelling style with some of 2's gameplay enhancements and I'm a happy camper.

I haven't played 2 and 3 to know if they tried to evolve but failed for one reason or another. I just hope that this one fixes most if not all of the original's many faults because the potential of its core gameplay system is outstanding.

Well from what I've heard from the Japanese response at least a lot of the cheese tactics from 1 like Scout rushing are much less viable.

So probably.

The overall Japanese receptions seems to be pretty positive though the series has always had a better reception in the west.

Looks pretty good but why did it take 10 years to make Valkyria Chronicles 2? Also the graphics look a little too similar to the first game.

I wish there were more older soldiers as main characters like Rosie and Largo, not just the teen team here

Its sad when the dog is the best party member design. MC looks ok too, but not sure I like the rest much. Some of the VAs sound really familiar though.

The Sniper Chick with her poncho is my favorite
