He really should have taken at least a few minutes to prepare for that interview. You don't try to wing it on national tv >_< Doubly so since the exposure could help him find a job so he could afford to live on his own which, as he repeatedly insists, is definitely something he wants.

This dude feels like that weird line where you're not sure if he's actually developmentally disabled and you shouldn't make fun of him, or if he's actually a turd muffin. There's clearly something wrong with him. I just don't know what it is. I think I mostly just feel bad for his parents.

yeah i kinda agree with you, but if he is dev. disabled should the parents be so eager to kick him out?

Yeah, that exchange at the very end was just weird. Then again, the journalist's random "What would you say to..." question was stupid as well and kinda facilitated a series of odd flubs.

I think it's safe to say the parents know if he is and what he's capable of.

Is there some reason CNN wants us to care about this guy?

I understood why Fox "covered" this, it was basically liberal stereotype fodder.

idk, the meme seemed to imply foreveralones, but this guy got on well enough with women to convince one to have his child.

Maybe they wanted to prove they were capable of talking about something besides Trump for five minutes.

Im curious as to why he agreed to this interview. The only thing he could hope to gain from it is sympathy - so unless thats all he was seeking... why do this?

The interviewer seems embarrassed at the end to have been put into the position to perform the interview. Just looks stupid for the dude and CNN overall.

Everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame. Plus it's a national story at this point anyway and this at least give him a chance to tell his side, which he absolutely squandered.

Well, she was asking pretty stupid questions in general. They kinda want into it with a narrative in mind. But yeah, that guy wasn't giving her much to work with. His answers -- like repeatedly saying something along the lines of "I have to do what's best for me" -- were just confusing. And, honestly, it wouldn't take him much to spin this damn thing. He could have talked about going through a rough patch where he just lost his kid, he was struggling to find work, and at this time of greatest need his parents were trying to evict him. But instead it was all "I have to do what's best for me," so instead of engendering sympathy with anybody that could transition into help, he just looked like a loser.

It'd be nice if everyone took that stance for even a week, preferably a month at least. With nobody paying attention he'd say significantly less stupid and inane things and give everyone a chance to relax. Worst case, fox would keep going at their current level and they'd start to look (more?) foolish. Either way, I don't see a downside if everyone took a breather-he's not worth the effort.
