^I dunno Leana, I found it overly laggy and slow when I tried using it a few years back, so I just went back to the base site. This just seems an attempt to annoy you into using their app, which never really works.

The official app has only been around for a few months now

Ive been using Apollo, which seems to work well enough. Ive tried three or four different reddit apps over the years and they all have their quirks and bugs, but overall theyre fine.

Because it's easier to curate and direct content they think you want/want you to see. Also if your attention is entirely in one app there's less chance that you're swapping between tabs and stuff.

It's all about retention time. It's why almost all non meme YouTube videos are 10+ minutes

My problem with apps is that I hate cycling through like, 5 apps when all I want to do is dick around for a a few minutes.

With a web browser I can cycle through GameFAQs, Reddit, imgur, npr, etc with a single address bar and not suffer the mild inconvenience of going back to my home screen all the time.

Only exception I make for this is youtube because YouTube's mobile site makes me cry on the inside.

Actually yeah, I take back what I said about the Reddit app. I just looked and remembered I'm not using the official one lol. I use BaconReader.
