Ends July 31. I enjoyed it, but the grind was way too much and had some weird things like it expecting you to work for a whole month for some major rewards. This means it lasted for six months before getting the axe.

So was this game like... actual Puzzle Fighter with just random mobile game grind elements in it? Cause I loved Puzzle Fighter for the Playstation. Best puzzle game ever and one of my top games ever.

Who was the user that thought they literally reformed MVC3 models for this?

Basically, they had a PvE and PvP mode. For PvE, you had random regards every few hours and if you do enough, you get a reward at the end of the month of all times that was really nice.

You get buffs for your abilities by opening up your rewards, but they are all random and impossibly annoying and idiotic to get them leveled up at all. As far as I remember, there was no way to get specific ones at all. Everything seemed random.

And for PvP that's where the most fun was when you could face other people. You got rewards for climbing the ladder that I think were monthly as well. I think you got piddly rewards for it.

The currency also kinda sucked. I played it for weeks and I don't think I bought a single thing from my earnings simply out of not being able to afford it.

I downloaded this on day one nearly by accident...but I always had trouble swiping the way I wanted too...it was so sensitive so I just stopped playing.

It's amazing that it wont even last a year though, guess it bombed?

Like I said, it was fun. It was just that you never ever seemed to make much headway and they gave you no real way to make headway towards a specific direction.

Maybe I'm just spoiled on Marvel Puzzle Quest, but in that they at least give you ways and chances to get the cards you want/need. In Puzzle Fighter, if you wanted something specific to Ryu, you were SOL.

I wonder what the record is for the shortest time between a game's launch and server shutdown rendering it unplayable.

I think it could be Flame vs. Blaze from Square Enix.

Came out in October, got shutdown in February. That's a whopping 4 months! Of course it's longer if you count Japan, but I don't know when it came out over there.

That isnt all that uncommon.

Kings Knight is shutting down and has only been out for like half a year.

The WW version of Tales of the Rays is shutting down next month despite it being from a known franchise and the Japanese server is still going strong. It will have only lasted 10 months.

Marvel have cancelled a few of their games after about six months. MARVEL UNITED didn't even make it out of soft launch before being binned.

Idol Connect -Asterisk Live- held that record in Japan (3 months).

It launched on August 16, 2016. The game was unplayable because of problem with its server on October 15-24 followed by announcement of shutdown and then actual shutdown on November 30.

It had high production cost with its 3D graphics, lots of songs, and fully voiced lines. The company, Creative Frontier went bankrupt shortly after the shutdown.

I've actually heard about that, but I didn't realize that the damage was THAT drastic. Holy shit!

When I run for Supreme Ruler Of The Earth, I'm going to pass a law saying that, if you run an online-only game and permanently end the service, you have to open-source the server code so fans can create their own continuation.

Who's voting for me?

they had a cool marvel card and group game that was probably like 6 or 7 years ago that I played nonstop until they did an update that changed all the special raid things and it was pointless because it made all the progress you did useless
