Rarely. Only if Im expecting a call from someone or a company that I dont have in my phone. Like if I recently put in job applications or something.

nope. i typically instantly reject any number i don't recognize.

the exception being if its from the first 4 #s of my work.

Because sometimes I get actually important calls from e.g. blocked numbers, so I have to treat every one like it's real.

What if it's a situation like your parent ends up in hospital and they call you because your number is listed as the emergency one and you're nah, let them leave a message.

As I said, unless the number is from another country, why wouldn't I answer?
If I'm available to answer and talk, that is.

I meant scam as in fucking up your mobile bill.
Which can't happen if the caller is from my country on my current contract, so I'm not worried.

Hmm, doesn't happen much over here.
I've had maybe a couple of scam calls over the past decade that weren't international calls.

I had a period of random numbers calling me for a while, but after a few months of not answering, I noticed that I do not receive them as often.

Mine are usually about cruises or Disney trips. I also get a shitton about "lowering my interest rate" and I think one other finance related thing that I can't remember.

I use my phone for work a lot, so if a number with a nearby area code calls while I'm at work, i pick up.

If I'm not at work or it's an out of state number, i don't pick up.

If its an important area code like where i work, where i live, where my parents live, my wifes family lives, then yes. if its some random ass state, then no they can leave a message.

I have to because of work. I often need to take calls from people that work below me if they have questions and I'm not in my office. I don't save coworkers numbers unless they're important or we actually hang out outside of work.

Never. Especially after doing so like 5 years ago and getting called every hour on the hour by the same number for like 2 days. Fuck scammers.

What's sucked is I've noticed my number being spoofed to at least one place I call when I order chicken wings. Had about 20 calls in a 3 month stretch out to them, all about a minute each. Don't know how that happens but whatever

I've gotten voicemails claiming a bench warrant has been issued for my arrest due to back taxes and I could call today to make it stop. I literally laughed out loud at that one

If it's a number I don't know, I just text a "who's this?".

Lately, most people go "excuse me, who are YOU?" and you find out their number is just being spoofed.

If it is a local area code, usually I pick up. If it is not, I don't answer. If it is a recruiter, my resume has my email address which is my preferred method of initial contact.
