Watching Edge give his retirement speech... oiy, it is tough to watch grown men who have some mythical feel to them basically give it all up and often just let themselves be real and emotional and cry.

The way I see it, unless their retirement is due to a severe neck/spine injury that has a risk of paralysis (like Edge's was) then I just automatically assume they'll come back eventually. I felt nothing when Ric Flair gave his retirement speech because I knew he would wrestle again at some point, and sure enough, he did when he went to Impact. I felt nothing when Daniel Bryan gave his retirement speech, because I knew there was a chance his concussion problem wouldn't be enough to keep him down, and it wasn't. But I cried like a little girl for Edge's speech because I knew his injury is something you don't come back from. The risk of being completely paralyzed from one more bad landing is too much. I knew when he said it that Edge was never coming back to the ring. He got his perfect ending at WM27. He's in the Hall of Fame now. Watching DB announce his retirement was painful because I had just started watching wrestling again.
