Am I just getting old and dumb to playing new games? How do I get to town and shit? This seems worse than Sims 3 in every way. Why does clicking my Sim not give me a bunch of options like previous games?
The UI is such trash too but I'm playing on console. The text scaling is so bad I have to stand up to read the tutorial shit.

I mean I literally can't figure out how to play the game. I'm just stuck at my house, my Sim goes to work and I'm just sitting there at the house fast forwarding time. Then they get back, I take care of him, do what I need to for work the next day, sleep, then they go back to work, rinse and repeat.

Maybe I'm just dumb as shit but this is significantly less intuitive than previous games. I'm going to have to pull out my PS3 just to play 3.

or your playing the console game? I don't know anything about console sims. I know they are not the same games though. the main sims games are on the pc. that's what I thought you were talking about

They are? I've played 3 and sone previous games on both console and PC and the base game was more or less the exact same. There were differences with expansions and sone UI stuff but that's it, the base games are pretty much the same.

I played the GC ones and a DS one and they are VERY different games from the PC ones.

I suppose it's possible they're more similar recently due to console power but I don't really know.

How did they fuck this up so bad? The Sims has always been a bit rougher controls and UI wise on consoles, but never this bad. It's so unintuitive whereas 3 on last gen made complete sense.

Can I plug a keyboard and mouse into this bitch? >_>

Isnt that basically how all the Sims games work? I mean its been ages and I only played 2, but Im sure you just fast forwarded through the day while the Sim is at work.

I mean after that I literally don't know what else to do. Like how to to to the city, be around other Sims, etc. And despite making 3 Sims with different careers their schedules are still so shit I can't do anything else anyways. I know it'll probably get better as they're promoted but in the 30~ minutes I played it was basically just keep them alive, practice work, work, come home, repeat and just fast forward through all of it.

I'm pretty much just playing a game that's an even more depressing version of my life. Where's the shit to do and how do I do it?

I know there's more to the game then this, but no idea how to do it. I feel real dumb today.

I really like 4 but The Sims is a depression game for me. Every 2-3 months I have a bad few days where I just need The Sims to remind me what to do in my own life.

Also the only reason I got it is because I wanted one I could play on PS4 and I guess being "new" would be nice too, but even for $30 I'm regretting it because it's making me more stupider.

I know how you feel. I played the hell out of the original Sims game when I was in middle school (maybe it was high school?), and I felt like I explored so much of it.

And then I tried playing 3 and 4 and I'm lost... it's like my Sim goes to work then comes home and I pay a bill and play some games and then after an hour I have enough money for a new couch. It's like a reflection of real life. I don't know how you're supposed to have time in the game to enjoy everything the game has to offer. It's a very stressful experience.

I'll back up the idea that Sims 3 was pinnacle of the series. Sims 4 felt like a step backwards.

In 3 the world was continuous and you could legit could just scroll around the entire neighborhood and visit any place in it without any loading screen. You could follow them to work and stuff, it was neat.

I do like 4's cartoonier artstyle though.
