The mother panicked and ran for it. She got in her car and drove, as fast as she could. She got pulled over by a policeman. Whole the policeman was writing her ticket, she watched him turn into her husband. She floored it.

She couldn't get far enough away. Everyone around her was turning into him. Her car was being outpaced by the expanding field.

She stopped the car. She got out and went into a public restroom to splash water on her face. Maybe this was all a bad dream. She turned on the water, splashed it on her face and looked in the mirror.

Her husband was looking back at her.

I feel it's less sexism and more mental programming.

Like the "If y-e-s spells yes, what does e-y-e-s spell?"

The riddle emphasizes that the dad, or parent, dies. So when the parent shows up again, there's confusion.

Especially if you grow up in a one parent household. "The other parent" sometimes isn't the immediate thought. It's the same if you swap mom and dad.

The tree was actually an Ent, and the father was chasing it in his car

Bullshit, my answer worked perfectly. His answer is obviously liberal propaganda.

That moment when you realize you might be slightly sexist because you failed to grasp that the mother could possibly be the surgeon.

Honesty, sounded like the most straight forward logical answer. I was expecting some sort of out of the box type answer.

Old riddle but seriously when did providing emergency medical services count as a conflict of interest which requires refusal?

Like unless the doc doubts their ability to perform the surgery, it's not exactly like they are approving a bank loan or making a judicial decision.
