Living through rape, someone has to adjust themselves to feel comfortable with being touched again, feeling adequate to be loved by someone, not having nightmares about being raped and trying not to think about it. On top of that everyone involved in a raped persons life has to struggle with it too, whereas in most murders they at least get closure knowing the murderer was put away.
