Positive - ~48m coming off the books next season with not a lot of must resigns (assuming Meester retires and that I have like 3.2m in dead money right now)

Negative - Doesn't account for yearly hikes of this years resigns and rookies which with ~40m cap space is likely to be 8-10m. Doesn't account for dead money either

That being said, next year looks slightly healthier than this season I think.

Was the extending old players rule you can't extend past the 34(?) y/o season or into, if they didn't ask for it?

Finally, I want to remind people that during the periods of signing your own free agents and free agency, you have limitations to the contract lengths you can offer them. You cannot sign a player to a contract that extends beyond their age-34 season unless the base contract already extends beyond that. If a player is already 34 or older, you cannot sign them to a contract longer than the base contract that they are seeking.

It doesn't seem as if the game's salary cap has risen much if at all. It is at $176 mil. Player demands do not increase over time. It is always based on skill and position.

Also, the main reason why I am giving extra time is because of the expected draft dates. I would rather give people extra time for this than for draft preparations.

This may not necessarily be a bad thing though, it just means the average rating of a player that a team can afford will go down league-wide. What may be normal now may not be feasible in the future.

I am open to increasing the salary cap slightly in the future, but I am trying to force teams to make hard decisions with their personnel and high-talent teams to spread some of their players around.

Jackson would obviously have to be a sign and trade given he's going to be a free agent.

Seems fine, titans getting a downgrade at HB essentially but it's offset by 2 years of no-guaranteed contract.

KCF would know he was demanding it though so if that was the case, KCF would have stayed his hand knowing the circumstances I think

I'm only planning on signing Jackson to a 1 year deal if this trade goes through so Sultan can decide if he wants to keep him past this year or not.

Well I don't know how Sultan is going to keep them both happy unless one has an injury. He's going to run into the same issue next season but maybe he doesn't care and is happy to have a stocked RB depth chart and continue to trade one every season?

I do not comment on trade demands unless the situation demands it, but that would be irrelevant in this case because of the inclusion of Jackson and Peterson, arguably the league's best HB, on the roster.

Jackson won't be able to hold out because he'll be a FA again next year as I have mentioned that I will only sign him to a 1 year deal for trade purposes. If he refuses to sign, and Sultan still wants him, that's what the franchise tag is for. Peterson will only have 1 year left at that point so Sultan could cut him and make Jackson his starter if he wants or roll with both again and let both their contracts run out and sign Jackson long term instead of Peterson or vice versa. Ultimately, I don't know what Sultan plans to do with Jackson though as he didn't say. *shrug*

Well, yeah, it probably applies anywhere, but it's way more prevalent at HB where there's a plethora of 80+ players who are very ready to demand trades/hold out.

Like, Mewelde Moore will not be returning to the Bills next year because he is 32 years old, 84 overall, and is mad he wasn't starting, and appliyng the franchsie tag to him obviously wouldn't make any sense.

I have an 82 G in the same scenario. Like the fuck dude, you're an 82, which team are you going to go to start at.

I was gonna be selfish and hoard this for myself. It's not anything that people couldn't have worked out themselves, just time consuming. Each position sorted by rating (not including free agents)

Don't expect ages to be filled in. I kinda just put it there so I could throw in some ages in if I was curious about a certain position cluster at any given time

Also I realized about half way through I was insane for doing it at this point because obviously it's going change drastically with free agency and the draft. And it will be a lot more time consuming to edit than it put together initially where I just copy pasted all the teams then sorted by position

Due to the overall feeling toward the Jags/Titans trade being uncertain and not positive or negative, I am suspending the ruling for further peer evaluation in wake of user demands for explanation, and that explanation coming late.

My feedback on the Jags trade:

Do I think they are overpaying? Yes. Probably by ~1 round (or maybe Stan can send back a lower round pick)

Do I think it's a good idea by the Jags? Not really given their roster composition. They don't need a 90 HB when they have the highest HB in the league on their roster and there's 85 HB's available in FA. I'm also sure KCF could have found an almost like for like swap off another team or AI

Does it actively weaken the Jags? No. They improve at RB and they improve at CB

One thing Sultan and Stan failed to highlight is that the Jags literally only have 1 CB rostered right now. So he has to acquire 3 from somewhere. Sure he could draft one with that 2nd rounder (Pick 52) and he'll probably get something in the 74-78 area but acquiring 3 CB's that aren't trash might be a task. People flipped their shit when I let a 78 CB go for a high 4th last season. We also just saw someone with negative cap space match an RFA on a 75 CB rather than take the 4th and grabbing a replacement 75-76 in FA or a lower rated CB and save cap space.

I don't like the trade but I don't think it's awful enough to veto.

If it's gonna cause this much trouble I can juat veto
