A lot of the interesting matches in the last ~10 years have been so because of the heavy rallying involved I think. Obviously rallying has affected every match since 2002, to at least some small degree, but I'm talking about the big rallies here. And by great I'm talking more in terms of matches that were tense/close the whole way, not big upsets.

Gut instinct is that Pokemon Trainers vs. Cloud/Seph match, which was so great but it was also like 7 years ago - there must be more.

I know Vivi vs Mario was a case of rallying, but IIRC it wasn't particularly large-scale rallying, and it was still really close and tense.

I did do a double take when I saw the date BYIG ended though. Holy shit, less than a year ago? I knew it was recently but it was such a total non-event I had no clue when it actually happened.
