Wish they would add new stuff when they do this. I already own the originals and I don't care about improved graphics, but when they redo ALL the freaking graphics anyway, why don't they add another game or something in the process? Then there would be a reason for me to get it as well.

I believe the publishers don't think the market will support a new Spyro or Crash Bandicoot or whatever game, so they sort of test the waters with these remasters, and if the remasters do well, then maybe they'll consider making a new game. It's safer and probably cheaper to release a remake or remaster than to fund an entirely new project.

I get that, but the people most interested in the games, already own them. I mean I really liked the spyro games....I would totally buy a new one. I just am tired of paying for games again that I already own, especially just for graphics upgrades.

Just a bit more work, add a few new areas/boss fights etc, and boom, you give something to old fans as well.

I have bought games in the past to support them and possibly get a new game in the series, but they never happen. I don't even usually play the new version because I have a huge backlog and no time/inclination to replay FFXII etc just because the graphics were redone.

They are never going to get a huge turn out on these things if they don't have anything for old fans.

Same here. Although I did play the hell out of the recent Shadow of the Colossus remake. It's fantastic.

But of all the remasters I've bought over the years, I've only played through a couple of them to the end. The Sly Cooper games, the Ratchet & Clank remake, the first Jak game. SotC. I think that's it. Bought the Jak trilogy but never finished the second game or played the third at all. There's probably a dozen or so remasters that I haven't finished.

I hear what you're saying, but it's not so simple as "a bit more work, add a few new areas" etc etc. Publishers are extremely averse to taking risks. Kickstarter is basically a barometer for public interest, which is why you see games like Shenmue III get Kickstarted with seemingly low funding goals. Then they proceed to shop for a publisher and get more backing/funding because they're like "See! The consumers want this game! Kickstarter proves it!"

The industry is in a strange place right now. Haven't quite figured out how to weather a flop like Hollywood has, so they're deathly afraid to put money into something that might fail.

I may get it. We had the second spyro game (I think) when we had our ps2. We didn't have a ps1 memory card, so we had to try to beat the game without turning off the console lol.

We got super good at the game. I think we may have beaten it, or got really close.

Are they gonna make it not a horrible playing game!?!? Worst platformer ever....

I only ever played Spyro in the demos of Crash games, so I'd like to get this.

Looks like this is for real, this time. The wife and I have been hoping to see this since the Crash remasters came out, so we will be getting it.

I am very happy

I'm going to be reverse engineering the heck out of this game. A couple things;

This is coming to PC
I'm modding out the voices.
I'm modding the old voices back in.
I'm modding the old music back in.
I'm not a huge fan of the Spyro model and might replace it, but the animation looks pretty complicated.

What else...

I'll probably host my own website for the mods.
