Topic | Spyro trilogy remaster announced, releasing September 2018 |
Far-Queue 04/05/18 4:24:44 PM #8: | wolfy42 posted... I have bought games in the past to support them and possibly get a new game in the series, but they never happen. I don't even usually play the new version because I have a huge backlog and no time/inclination to replay [game] etc just because the graphics were redone. Same here. Although I did play the hell out of the recent Shadow of the Colossus remake. It's fantastic. But of all the remasters I've bought over the years, I've only played through a couple of them to the end. The Sly Cooper games, the Ratchet & Clank remake, the first Jak game. SotC. I think that's it. Bought the Jak trilogy but never finished the second game or played the third at all. There's probably a dozen or so remasters that I haven't finished. I hear what you're saying, but it's not so simple as "a bit more work, add a few new areas" etc etc. Publishers are extremely averse to taking risks. Kickstarter is basically a barometer for public interest, which is why you see games like Shenmue III get Kickstarted with seemingly low funding goals. Then they proceed to shop for a publisher and get more backing/funding because they're like "See! The consumers want this game! Kickstarter proves it!" The industry is in a strange place right now. Haven't quite figured out how to weather a flop like Hollywood has, so they're deathly afraid to put money into something that might fail. --- https://i.imgur.com/ZwO4qO2.gifv Bluer than velvet was the night...
