Even if you have like 500 subs and make $2.50 per sub you end up making only $1250 a month or $300 a week. Even when I worked at a grocery store at 30 hours a week I made more money than that.

Wait so if you get 500 subs you'll make that much? Damn I only make $1800 a month. Time to get a part time job as a streamer!

That doesn't factor in donations, they are also playing video games (most of the time). And that's an arbritary number. The big streamers have way more than that.

Honestly I wouldn't try to make twitch your only income until you grow (if you're good at it and lucky) and you're sure it can support you.

What I always find weird is that I follow a couple of streamers that have around 250 subs each and they only make like $700 a month and despite that they manage to live comfortable lives. Not sure how that paltry income is anyway at all sustainable. Then I checked one of their Patreons and the guy makes $400 from that. So $1000 a month without considering ad revenue, donations or bits.

I mean $1000 a month is pretty paltry before taxes. That's part-time job tier for all of the effort required to sustain it.

Kind of makes me want to donate money to some of these guys when I listen to them 4-8 hours a day.

But if you love playing video games the effort is worth it. Are you sure they don't have another source of income?

I've seen some big streamers like Maximilian get like $50 in donations a minute because people love him so much.

The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. They're all complacent sheeple. Passion fights, but reason wins.

I know that one of them doesn't but the other one does a lot of ebay flipping. I was just curious about doing the math. The income seems to be better than what I'd expect honestly (because you're just playing video games...).

They are perfect examples of people doing what they like for work so its not work in their eyes.

They literally get paid to play games all day, something many people struggle with work just to fund said activities.

Dont feel sorry for twitch streamers. Ever.

I don't feel sorry for people who can afford to stream or make YouTube videos for a living, but there's another side to that. For some it may be doing something they already love, but for others they can't enjoy their hobbies anymore when they just become work.

That's a big generalization. There are lots of non money related reasons you can feel bad for someone

People make bank off that stuff. Play things like minecraft or other games young kids love, and stream it/make videos and you can make a ton of money.

Robloxs I think is the name of the game Dillian was crazy about. She would watch videos of this main streamers nonstop, along with tons of other kids. One was a cat guy...um....Mrmeowsalot I think was his name.

They make freaking tons of money and only post like a few hours of videos a month.

Over 10k$ a month for a few hours of playing a game? Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Course that is just for the most popular people, but even if you don't get that many followers you could still make a decent amount of money. I've considered it myself actually.

Seriously? One $50 donation and that guy has my days 8 hour physically and mentally challenging pay

And he's just playing Mario, and that's just the tip of what he'll make.

The current game is Fortnite by the way. All of the kids seem to be groveling over it these days.
