I'm travelling right now and main reason I'm doing it was to tag along with friends and people always say you got to do it while you are single or young or if you don't travel you will regret it.

I've done it too in the past but tbh it never really did anything for me. even now I have no real interest and like I said I just went along cos friends did but all I can think about while out is to get back to the hotel to hang with you guys.

What's the deal? am I just a major homebody?

tbh the vibe I get from a lot of people when it comes to travelling is just for bragging rights or to show off on social medias.

even with the people on with, some of the photos they putting up is making it seem like we are having way more of a madder time than we really are.

don't get me wrong, I'm having a pleasant time but it's not that big of a deal imo. I find it more of a hassle than its worth

it's not for everyone... but for the vast majority of people that actually leave their house (not shut-ins) it can be rewarding. also depending on your style of travel it can be pretty miserable, like i can't stand traveling with people that have to schedule everything and plan out the ass. you also need to factor in the destination and personal enthusiasm about it, are you really going somewhere you find interesting or is it just another place you could care less about, etc.

You can't travel just to travel. You have to actually WANT to go to the place you're going.

I have zero interest in going to Chicago or Italy. But if I get somewhere with beautiful natural landmarks or France, I'd be enamored.

Don't ever do things just because others say you should.

For me it's really who you travel with and how similar your interests are. I typically hate travelling with family and only like travelling with friends when we have generally separate plans with only a few crossover days.

Travelling with my fiance had provided the best memories of my life without question and so many amazing things both small and massive that simply couldn't happen anywhere near our house. Exploring the world with someone can be magic.

that's the thing.

I honestly don't think there is really any place I want to go to.

to me I have no interest in going to some 3rd world country or any place I can't drink the tap water at. yet here I am doing this shit cos dat social pressure.

maybe travel really isn't for me yet people always make out you gotta go somewhere if you get time off work or you gotta go somewhere or you wasting your life.

ppl are weird. they spend all this money and effort with their home yet it's like they try to do anything to avoid their home besides sleeping.

I was just in Italy last summer, so many natural landmarks over there. Not even landmarks, but the views were incredible.

As for this topic, traveling is always fun, for me at least. I love new things, like seeing new places and eating new food.

seeing a good view and stuff doesn't do anything for me. it's like, ok saw this place in person, took a picture of it even though I can find a way better picture of the place online. I dunno. it really just doesn't excite me that much or anything.

I guess eating food is the most alright part.

Yeah I just don't have the desire to travel.

I understand its appeal to other people, but for me I'm content staying where I am and instead focus my interests inward. I would enjoy going to see some cool nature destinations, but it's not worth the trouble to me. It takes more money and planning than I'm willing to allocate just for something that I'll get bored of within a couple hours.

I just find it interesting that so many conservative-minded people express this disdain for seeing things and places outside their comfort zone and "focus their interests inward." Explains the mindset some of the time I think.

Oh of course it's political now.

Also take note how there was never disdain nor "being outside of comfort zones" mentioned. Just a lack of interest and feeling the effort to enjoyment ratio is off.

I feel the same way to be honest. I like it if I can spend time and have fun with friends. But the interest isn't so much in the traveling, it's in the having fun with friends.

Definitely. I'm not into sightseeing, and traveling just to go someplace different doesn't appeal to me.

However, if I'm hanging out with friends and they feel like traveling someplace, I won't object.

I'm a homebody. Traveling is not my thing, but if it's yours then cool.

I feel some people need to realize that most people don't have the means to travel the world anyway.

I love being in New places, but the travel part sucks. Like I had an amazing time both times I went to Europe but the flights to and from were some of the worst shit I've ever experienced.

And don't even get me started on road trips

I LOVE flying for the first, like, 4 hours. After that it's uncomfortable and it blows but it's always worth it.
