I didn't know anything about HG and its shenanigans. I have read that there likely will never be a Robotech movie because of rights issues. I have seen Macross (maybe its title was "Superdimeinsional Fortress Macross"? not sure), and it was fine. But I already had Robotech ingrained in my brain. I realize the TV show was composed of 3 completely unrelated series, and that's why it was so disjointed. But I liked how they did it consecutively better than "Captain Harlock and the Queen of a Thousand Years." That show just had me totally confused (especially since I couldn't watch it consistently) because it jumped back and forth between two different storylines. Remember, this was the 80s.
