When a police officer described a cellphone recording left by 23 y/o Austin Bomber, Mark Anthony Conditt as "the outcry of a very challenged young man", that sparked OUTRAGE of its own.

Because he was a white conservative christian kid who grew up in a "nice household" as described by friends and family, that left people questioning whether the same level of compassion would have been afforded to a person o colour!

David Leonard, a professor in the dept of critical culture, gender and race studies said "Here you have a case of a young white male who killed and injred people of colour and we're culturally more concerned about his story, about his life and about what led him to take these lives. It's a striking reminder of racial empathy gap that persists"

Many observers and activists said the comments were just the latest in an example of which a white suspect seemed to recieve an injection of humanity that is less often extended to blacks, Muslims and others.

Mark was part of a christian group that endorsed terrorist tactics to cause fear as he put the city in a state of fear for weeks after planting 5 bombs that killed 2 people and badly wounded 4 others.

The community college dropout set off a bomb in his SUV killing himself which severely injured his body according to police.

U.S law defines these acts of violence as linked to foreign groups such as ISIS and homegrown extremism such as Neo-Nazis and KKK

Similarily, Stephen Craig Paddock was decribed as "lone wolf" despite massacring 50+ people, likewise with Aurora Shooter James Holmes.

But when Police Chief Brian Manley was "sympathizing" with the "outcry" of a young man who said his personal life led him to this, the rection was swift as Sherrilyn Ifill, president of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund said "Remember how they talked about innocent black children? I believe passionately in acknowledging the humanity of those who commit even terrible crimes. Reading this police chief's empathy for this young white man highlights the awfulness of the persistent refusal to extend this empathy to young black people."

Many of the black males who were killed are always described as "thugs" by authorities and the NYT was blasted when they referred to Michael Brown as "No Angel"

Media Coverage on Conditt are describing him as a "Nerdy" and "Kind" young man who was "troubled" as Koritha Mitchell says "Language is always shot through with power dynamics. What this show us is the way that we can talk about people determines how we can treat them".

Rev Yvette Griffin says Blacks and Muslims don't get the same presumption of innocence as "the words are kinder and gentler" for white criminals.

Yeah god forbid the cop have sympathy.

Little did they know that their reasoning for their "sympathy" was going to be pinned on race.

The media literally describes black gangbangers as troubled youths all the time, to the point that it's comical.

And whites might get better treatment from police, but that likely stems from the fact that whites as a whole are a much less dangerous group for police to approach in comparison to blacks.

Blacks comparatively commit way, way more violent crimes than whites, as well as crime in general. Any officer versed in crime statistics or just with a healthy amount of experience is likely going to be more on edge around a black citizen for that reason. Not to mention, as has been stated, black culture in America really glorifies being a violent cop-killing, drug-dealing pimp.

Honestly, toxic black culture is a huge part of why so many blacks get shot yet no one seems to want to talk about it. Easier to call people racist, I guess.

If white privilege is real, then so are all other forms of privilege. Hell, if I weren't white, I'd have a full-ride scholarship to just about any University of my choice with my grades.

The only real privilege is wealthy privilege.
