Yes. The two most important things you can invest in for longevity of physical health are shoes and mattresses, especially if you are on your feet often. I have very nice wooden clogs for my kitchen and service work, and have great basketball, running, and weightlifting shoes for when I want to get physical.

yeah it does seem that much less people are willing to spend over 100 on sneakers though. Tell that to the guys who love air jordans

I think the most I've ever spent is $80. A pair of Clogging shoes cost that much, so does a pair of Pointe shoes. Add taps to the Clogging shoes and toe cushions to the Pointe shoes and I've spent pretty close to $100 on a pair of work shoes.

Only if they were special orthopedic shoes or something

I tend to spend around $30-$60 per pair and they last me the better part of a year. I used to always get Dr Scholls until they got bought out and started going down in quality, so now I always get New Balance, theyre great.

I've come close to the $100 mark before, and I've strongly considered buying shoes that were over $100 before, so I'd definitely say I would do it, even if I haven't quite yet. No way for sneakers, though. If they're over $100, they're going to be damn nice shoes.

Sure. Both pairs of boots that I have were over $100. My work boots were $130 and they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. Even after a twelve hour shift spent mostly on my feet, I could come home take them off and my feet felt great. They were never achey or sore. Two years later and they still feel amazing and aren't even close to needing to be replaced. Money well spent. Magnum makes some pretty great boots.

My casual boots are probably 18 years old and still in great shape as well. I've had the soles replaced once. I don't remember exactly what I paid for them though. Too long ago.

Why is that the arbitrary number instead of 75 or 115? Just curious as to how you decided 100 was too much.

Dress shoes I generally don't go over $75.

Steel Toes for my job doesn't exceed $50 since it's light work.

You're worried about $100 being "arbitrary" rather than $75 or $115? lol

Seriously though, most shoes are under $100 so I set that as a limit for shoe spending. I have two pairs of normal shoes I wear out and about that were $90 and $70 each, plus some work boots that I use for yard work that were $80, winter boots that were $60, dress shoes that were $80, and a $30 pair of sandals.

I set limits on other things in life, too, just because that's a responsible financial thing to do. For example, I don't buy meals at restaurants that are more than $20 before tip unless it is a very special occasion.

I wouldn't say most. You're looking at $80-90 at least for a decent pair of runners/trainers at Sportchek or something. If you go somewhere like Payless then yeah, but you're really getting what you pay for at those places.
