So this guy comes in and gets a coffee. He notices me playing a game on my laptop and asks about it (the laptop, not the game). Fair enough. He clearly has no fucking clue what I'm talking about, but whatever, I humor him and tell him how much it cost and where I got it and stuff like that. Then he starts asking if it was made in China, and I tell him some of the components probably were, since the produce so much, but the company is based in the U.S. Then somehow he gets onto the track of NVidia and how "those things they make" are getting expensive because of people "mining for those coin bit things."

And thus, he began ranting for over 20 minutes (very slowly, I might add) about bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. Most of which was just completely wrong, but I didn't bother correcting him because he wouldn't know the difference anyway. I don't think I said more than 3 words the entire time, and I kept staring at my controller hoping he would get the picture that I had my game paused and would much rather be playing right now. He didn't get the picture. Somehow he managed to transition from cryptocurrencies into voter fraud and Trump. I didn't really even notice the transition, tbh, I had tuned him out almost completely by that point. But he ranted for another 10 minutes on that without anything more than an occasional nod from me before finally leaving.

....and then about 20 seconds later he walks back in. FML. This is going to be a shitty night, isn't it? He's still here, ranting as I type this. Not even sure what topic he's on at this point. It's just kind of rambling. The only thing that I can glean from what he's saying is that he's ignorant as fucking hell and a complete moron. -_-

I'm playing video games while working. There is a distinct difference. That difference being that I work night shift and everything I need to do gets done and gets done well. But I'm here for 9 hours and there's really only about 5 hours worth of actual work that needs to be done. The rest of the time I'm just a body to be in the store so that someone can run the register when a customer shows up at 3 a.m.

I didn't feel like giving a lecture tonight on cryptocurrencies to someone who wouldn't understand 90% of what I would have said anyway. The idiot actually said that bitcoin was a very stable investment. O_o Crypto in general is about the most volatile investment you can possibly make right now. That shit fluctuates more than a college freshman girl's sexuality when drinking.

Some people are beyond help. It's best to recognize those people and avoid wasting your time.

Is this your first job? I thought I got away from listening to people bitching and complaining and here I was today sitting in my own office when a coworker comes in and start blabbering for 20 minutes. I just nod and go "hehe yeh" for 20 minutes while cruising the web pretending to be busy. It's not a big deal.

Its worse when someone walks in who doesn't have a way to get wherever they need to and end up standing around for hours complaining about their life.

Had an older guy once who came in and while he was gathering some stuff the girl, who he claimed was 18, he picked up earlier took off with his car. Can't blame her since the guy seemed off and he kept talking about how they were just gonna spend the night at his cabin a few miles outside of town. Was so happy to spend the next 6 hours with the guy walking around erratically refusing to call anyone to pick him up and learn his entire life story.
