The collection on ps4 is on sale. Never played any of them but I like platformers.

Also if perhaps just one or two of them are worth it, theyre also $6 a piece separate.

2 is like the Conker's Bad Fur Day of the series

3 dials the edginess back and imo is the most balanced of the three

I thought 1 was kind of dull. Only played a bit of 2 and hated it. Never played 3

I played and beat Jak 1 and 2.

Loved J&D. 2 was ok, for it's time it was a technical masterpiece and really fun to play but hated the edge-lord makeover they gave it. Still remember them both tho all years later since playing them on PS2 tho so that's generally the mark of a good game right?

Is JAK X any good? Is it worth getting the collection? Because I might just get the first one... Any other opinions, yall?

1 was magical, fantastic job creating a fantasy world in that one. Jak 2 is great too but for different reasons, not nearly as polished and magical

Jak 1 is like Sonic the Hedgehog and Jak 2 is like Shadow the Hedgehog (not in gameplay, just in terms of dramatically different themes)

Jak & Daxter is fantastic. Awesome platformer. I've beaten it more than any other game ever.

Jak II is the best in the series. Really good story, characters, action. Dials down the platforming for more combat and racing, but that's not a bad thing, just different.

Jak 3 is great. Very much in the same way as II, just more everything.

And Jak X is tons of fun. Totally worth it. Lots of different types of racing and combat. Decent story. Just a real good spin off game.

Hell Daxter was a great PSP game too. The only game in the whole series that's not really worth a whole lot is the Lost Frontier. Not made by Naughty Dog and it shows. There's some good to it, but it's not anywhere near the others.

Jak & Daxter "4" is Lost Frontier. I have no idea why it was brushed away when the reviews were fairly good. I liked it enough as well.

They're only third person shooters technically. They are not the more mainstream style third person shooter like Uncharted, Gears of War, etc. They're still pretty much platformers but with guns.

I only ever played the first (R&C) one, but they're similar enough that it's an accurate comparison. There is some fundamental differences on how you go about getting / acquiring guns and such but it's the same general idea as R&C mixed with some Dark Eco Jak transformations.

I remember them being absolutely fantastic, and also remember Jak II being HARD. Really hard.

Couldve been me being a kid though. Havent played them in a looooooong time.

Jak II has the worst checkpoints of any game ever. That's what makes it hard

The free roam was insane cuz the cops blast on you from everywhere and its next to impossible to escape in the flying cars without crashing. The hover board/flying skateboard was pretty sweet tho

Now I just have to wait all damn day for my slow ass rural Tennessee internet to download them! Yay!
