I vaguely remember it tasting better when consumed from a glass bottle, yes.

However, it's been easily ten years since I've drunk coca-cola so I don't remember for sure.

The only coke I see around here in glass bottles is the Mexican Coke with real sugar, which tastes vastly different.

Yes, glass > plastic >>>>> aluminum when it comes to soft drinks. Fountain is always a toss-up given that the consistency can vary.

Even water tastes better in glass compared to plastic

Also a lot of coke in glass bottles is from Mexico where they use cane sugar as the sweetener since it is cheaper for them than corn syrup, and it tastes better

prefer aluminum can. it's better if the whole experience is icy cold, but glass or plastic are too insulative and don't blend properly temperature-wise with the liquid.

Which, tbh, is thanks to less government intervention. The US has federal subsidies on corn and iirc tariffs on foreign cane sugar. Given that HFCS is also less healthy than sugar (the extent to which is debatable and may also vary depending on consumption rates), it's government intervention which makes the country sicker (and, of course, gives us a worse-tasting product)

Fountain Coke is the best, by far, then bottles and finally cans. It's good all around though. Easily my favourite beverage.

The Costco here carries Mexican Coke in glass bottles and I treat myself to a case once or twice a year.

Fountain tastes the worst.

Canned, bottled, tastes the same.

But I prefer tea.

My preference ladder:
1) Glass- Naturally colder when no refrigerator is available. Very fake proof, as coveing glass bottles is near impossible without machinery.

2) Can- fairly fake proof. But always need to clean lid of dust/dirt.

3) Plastic- neither cold without ice, nor secure as is easily faked and bottles can be reused (often without washing) for other products like peanuts, kerosine, palm oil etc making its contents contagious.

I only drink plain cola when nothing else is available. I can't remember the last time I drank Coca-Cola (or any soda pop for that matter) that was sold in a glass bottle.

So, fountain Coke that's dispensed into ice in the shape of a bottle. It isn't shipped "bottled" that way.

Plastic bottle or glass bottle doesn't really make a difference to me, but fountain drinks have the possibility (A high one, at that) of the workers using an improper amount of syrup.

From what I have seen Coke in the bottle is made with cane sugar, compared to high fructose corn syrup which is how all other Coke is made.

So yeah those that prefer it in the bottle are enjoying it for more reasons than "the container", I have a feeling that sugar vs. corn syrup would impact the taste.
