As in have you ever told an authority figure of someone doing something bad..or maybe you ratted on a friend for doing something illegal..or called the police when you saw someone stealing etc...

My first boss was extremely irresponsible and committed some minor fraud. I didn't really care because he was nice enough to me. Then he was too lazy to drop off a bank deposit one night, it was stolen at some point the next day, and he tried to pin it on me. I had an irrefutable alibi for the timeframe when the crime would've taken place, plus the district manager thought highly of me and told me I wasn't even a suspect. He also hated my manager and regularly yelled at him, sometimes making him cry...

Anyway, I was told to give my account of the previous night's events before close (coincidentally the only time I'd ever been told I could leave early) and where I was the next day when the crime was committed. My boss was definitely just being nice by letting me go home early, but after fucking up and attempting to frame me the gloves were off. It became personal and I wanted him to suffer. I spun it like "It's strange that the only time he's ever let me leave before closing is also the only time a deposit has gone missing..." and so on. I also spilled my guts about every single shady thing or policy violation I was aware of. I wanted it so they had enough dirt on him to hang him ten times over.

Everyone else basically tried to defend him to some extent, but my position was loud and clear following his attempt to throw me under the bus... The end result, from what I was told was that he had two choices: be fired, lose his work visa, and be deported -or- quit, give up any entitlement to severance pay, and face no criminal charges. That's what I was told by somebody higher up... But yeah, he opted for the latter because his wife and baby held different citizenship and his family would've been split across a border otherwise.

The funniest thing was that a while later, some loser burnout was caught sneaking into the back room and it was almost certainly him that had stolen the money. Nonetheless, the manager leaving a deposit sitting on a desk, out in the open, was still in gross violation of policy (and intelligence).

When I was about ten years old in primary school, my brother (who had moved on to secondary) and some of his friends ransacked the school grounds - tipping over all the trash cans and uprooting several trees that had recently been planted.

Our headmaster spoke to the whole school asking if anyone had any information etc.

Some kids in my class started whispering shit pretending they knew who it was and that annoyed me, so I stood up and said "Sir, it was my older brother."

He was suspended from school for two weeks.

Can't say I have despite knowing of said illegal activities happening with some of my family and acquaintances. It would take a lot for me to "blow the whistle" in these situations. Such as if one turned out to be a child molester, animal abuser or rapist. Those are really the only things that would cause me to intervene from the top of my head.

Not for anything illegal, just classmates being stupid. One time, we had a substitute teacher, and she was writing down names on the whiteboard of every student who was misbehaving, saying she'd relay their actions to our usual teacher. While she wasn't looking, a couple of my classmates whose names were written down erased their names. I walked up to the sub and told her what they were doing.

In retaliation, the others came up to me and attempted to intimidate me, saying "Snitches get stitches." While trying to keep from laughing, I said back to them, "Just try." I already knew they didn't have the backbone to actually do anything, and even if they did, they'd just end up hurting themselves. As expected, they walked away and didn't bother me.

Some time ago at a different job, a co-worker was wondering if a new employee was on the sex offender list. I checked and it turns out he was. Once the higher ups found out, he got canned. Some months later, he ended up raping his ex-girlfriend and murdered her then boyfriend.

That's the boards fault not his. The teacher was doing something wrong, the punishment lies with the education board.

Don't really think about it. All I did was report them for it, wasn't me who chose the punishment. I can say I didn't expect them to fire him though. There might've been more to it than I knew, or maybe he'd been caught doing it before, that sorta thing. But I really have no idea.

Yeah, I called in a friend of a friend who tried driving home drunk as fuck. He got a dui and quit drinking after that. He was an alcoholic well before that moment. He'd always start shit with people when he drank. I wasn't gonna let him kill someone because of his asshole choice.

Idk. I mean, I would assume I have at some point. But I really don't remember. I do remember when a guy in my basic flight got mushroom stamped. It was a big deal on the count of it being sexual assuault. And they were asking who did it. And everybody knew. And nobody said anything... the even ask certain people individually in front of the rest of the flight... including me...
