The Dead Rising 3 DLC was garbage
The idea was to show other people and what they did during the outbreak, and what their significance was or how they impacted the main plot while you play as them

but the thing is...none of it really amounts to much (except the last one)

but even then, the DLC was basically a condensed version of the main game. Meaning that they expected you to do so much fetch quest crap in about 2 hours. Sure the main game IS a giant fetch quest but it was more or less at your leisure and there was other things to do. The DLC was JUST that

and like I said, it was an interesting concept but they just failed at it. You are fine not knowing who these people are and what they did

it was just all terrible all around and a giant waste

Destiny 2 DLC immediately springs to mind.

I regretted buying the Injustice DLC characters because the ultimate edition became free on PS+ then, but that's not to say it was bad

Asura's Wrath's true ending was locked behind DLC, which again, not unenjoyable content but a fucking horrible use of DLC

also, I think i've heard better things over all about this, but my DR3 experience is making me not want to get the additional Episodes in FFXV.

But then again, the circumstances ARE different, the FFXV stuff revolves around established characters. and they're good characters at that, not random ones

but still, I can't help but feel the same way

I bought a few DLCs last gen to support developers after purchasing the game used, and I didn't particularly care for any of them. Maybe Deus Ex Revolution's (Missing Link?) because it should have been integrated into the main game.

In terms of what I regret buying, the Bank Heist DLC for Thief 4. I have no idea how it compares to the main game, because fuck that game. I bought the DLC separately while I was still playing Thief 3, because it was on sale and I thought a throwback to a classic mission would be really cool. By the time I got to the point in Thief 4 where the mission was available, I just wanted that shitfest to be over, and I'd be damned if I was going to go out of my way to play more of it.

Borderlands 2's Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is absolute trash. Which is super weird, considering Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep and Torgue's Campaign of Carnage for the same game are two of the best DLC expansions ever made.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)
Paying for Makoto Nanaya, Platinum the Trinity and Valkenhayn R. Hellsing.
They weren't bad DLC at the time.
I ended up not getting into BlazBlue in the long run and it didn't help my case further when the subsequent updated sequels came out. That's when I ended up regretting buying them.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (PS3)

Paying for Maria. She's utterly worthless compared to the rest of the cast. She's probably the one single DLC I regret buying.
She's apparently a much better character on the 360 version cause the PS3 version never got an update that fixed a few things.
