ruTV has renewed long-running comedy series Impractical Jokers for an eight season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The network also has commissioned a feature-length film, the latest extension for the franchise, to be directed by Chris Henchy and produced by Funny or Die.

One of the unfunniest shows I've ever had the mistake of watching.

Show is funny as hell but a full film might not be that great. I would rather just have 4-5 episodes in a row then 1 giant episode.

And I think that show is gonna have an expiration date here soon. They're famous enough that most people on the street know who they are already, making the skits irrelevant. That's the side effect you get from becoming popular with their shtick.

That might be dangerous considering this season they've already nearly gotten Murr beat up by some huge dude and nearly started a riot by making Q steal people's money

Gotta push the envelope even more for a movie though. I'm just surprised 8 seasons in and there's still people out there that aren't just saying "stop doing that Sal" when they're getting pranked lol

There are people like that I assume they just cut it from the TV viewing, Remember that punishment where Murr had to take cigs out of people's hands and mouths on the street? They aired a bit where some space cadet girl mistook him for one of her friends and just started talking to him, then when he revealed who he really was, it took her a second to still figure out she wasn't talking to her friend.

Yeah they've said at one point if they can tell the participants recognize them they'll generally stop right there and find/wait for someone else.
