So a bit to my surprise, Layzner is actually fantastic. I wasn't expecting it to suck or anything, but Sunrise+'80s is usually predictable...instead the show has managed to defy my expectations at just about every turn. Really great so far, and if it can hold out for 20 more episodes it might even steal a spot in my top five.

To be fair, the two Morgans actually are two separate characters in Awakening. You get the female Morgan if your avatar character is male, and vice-versa. I'm not upset about "more Awakening/Fates shilling" this time because we're actually getting new characters. Chrom is just "meh" to me.

Plus the Thracia banner has already been announced for next month, so that means we'll be getting a fresh batch of classic characters soon.

I'm definitely pulling for the female Morgan. I could use another flying magic unit after I missed out on Summer Corrin and Halloween Nowi. Male Morgan's skills look interesting for inheritance, but I wouldn't use him. Also, Chrom is a cavalry Falchion user and my team of dragon lolis are all hiding in the corner crying.

Chrom is kind of a dork. Honestly, a lot of characters voiced by Matt Mercer get pretty awkward at times. He's good at it.

Bad translation/localization, I'd guess. Is there a Japanese version of the trailer or something?

I like that as a Critical Shout. It really fits Chrom. Plus this Chrom's Design looks MUCH better than regular Chrom, gonna try for him.

Also hyped for Morgan. Morgan was awesome in Awakening. Only ever had Female Morgan though, so that's who I'll be trying for.

I checked the jp version, he says , which is a word/phrase describing like, horse riding so skillful (and the horse well trained I supposed) that it's like the horse and rider are one instead of being two separate entities. ( = person, = horse, = one body)

It doesn't really have a concise & direct equivalent in english so I'm not surprised they totally changed it but they definitely could have gone with something that seems like something someone might actually say. Should have just had it say "Charge!" or something lol

Finished Apocrypha. My thoughts.

It's entertaining at times, I'll give it that. But it's a mess. The pacing was all over the place. It felt like a lot of important stuff was happening, but nothing was really happening. The main characters were boring. Protag sucked and had the personality of a brick. Antagonist sucked and had the personality of a brick. Joan sucked and had the personality of a brick. Honestly, and I can't believe I'm saying this, savor it. But the Saberface and Her Master should have been the main characters. They had the most character, they had really good chemistry, and they were the most entertaining to watch. The best stuff from the show was when they were involved. The most surprising thing was Chiron. He really ended up being an awesome character and one of my new favorite servants. At the beginning, I didn't expect much from him, but as the show went on he just nailed it. Dude was awesome. I also liked Doc Ock and wish she was more relevant than what she was. Should have had more fight scenes with her badass Mecha Arms.

So yeah. I'd rate it as better than Unlimited Blade Works, but not as good as Zero or Strange Fake (anime when?). And it makes me sad because this concept was really cool, but they just didn't deliver.

I'm still shocked that she was such a good character. Not only was she a good character, but she was one of the best parts of the show.

Yeah, the protagonists really hurt in Fate. This Protag especially. I'm still pissed that they killed Siegfried for this loser.

One thing I love about Strange Fake is that it's really Durarara and Baccano like where it doesn't feel like there is a single Protag. The focus jumps around so much that everyone feels like the lead character and everyone gets focus.

Lul don't hate on Crash XP. It's actually a childhood series of mine. I never got very far though, and also very interesting that it's on a Nintendo console. I always thought it as a PS series

I really wish I had that smug Corrin picture that made its rounds when she was announced.

Corrin, Robin, and Ike are fun as hell. Lucina is good because everything needs more Laura Bailey. Roy is good because he's not Marth. And fuck Marth.

I just want Hector already. Smash actually doesn't have enough heavy characters that has a long reach.

I guess Ike is one, but Hector would be very interesting I feel like. He's got it all, the spinny axe he does in his game can be his recover, and he swings his axe like he's swinging a twig anyways. I'm sure they can work out some basic set with him
