But I do understand the emotional undertones; both parents have claim to the unborn child. Personally, I wouldn't use this phrase as I find it weird but I won't really dislike a person (s) on the basis of what cutesy phrases or corny displays of affection they choose to say and do. It'll probably annoy me a bit but I won't ever voice this out to them verbally. I'm just not sure where all the exasperation comes from. I mean do you all work in maternity wards or a maternity section at a department store where this is such a regular part of your life to draw ire?
