Tilt is yet another compentently made film that will just make you feel like absolute shit. Think Taxi Driver or Nightcrawler but even sadder. My sister does not get to pick the movie next time goddam.

I am literally just here for Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton. That is all. Because god damn, everything in this season seems like it's going in double speed and absolutely nothing is compelling or interesting. It's marvelous how they manage this.

Yeah......"interesting".....

For me it's generally not a good time when a film is very psychological and introspective in studying a bad person, who could very much exist in real life. Nightcrawler I liked - there was an actual cast of characters and interesting interactions and story elements. This just got.....unpleasant. That said, it *is* good. I just have some personal fears that made it a little bothersome for me.

So I'm most of the way through Roanoke and honestly

this is one of my least favorite seasons to date

Sarah Paulson is so much worse than she is in every season, and everything's just sort of a mess

There are really cool stylistic ideas here in the documentary/followup style but god it's a narrative disaster. Every character is awful except maybe Kathy Bates'

and I've heard Cult and now Apocalypse are only getting worse? what is happening

Okay I came here just to get confirmation that they were literally doing what I thought they were with this season and making it tie in to Coven. Somehow. Hoo boy they really are trying to milk that nostalgia moo cow for all she's worth. What's next? Langdon is the antichrist born near the end of Murder House? The doctor from Asylum secretly gave Veneble the orders to execute anyone who engages in unauthorized acts of procreation? I bet he's just waiting to call anyone who enters the Sanctuary WHORES. Amazing.

Saw A Simple Favor last night

not horror but has some strong mystery thriller vibes, and is overall an enjoyable movie

although to be fair, I could watch Anna Kendrick eat a bowl of cereal for two hours and not be disappointed

Finally got around to watching Revenge

Rape-revenge movies are weird. Like, it's a genre so specific you already know basically what's going to happen going in, so it's really just a matter of how well it does that one exact thing

and Revenge does it really well for the most part

I think that makes this the 4th rape revenge movie I've seen?

Revenge > Last House on the Left > I Spit on Your Grave > Teeth

Hell Fest is a decent slasher film with a unique setting. If you like haunted houses and the idea that maybe something bad could really happen in one of them, this should be fairly entertaining. It's nothing grand or glorious, but definitely better than some of the other horror films this year.

I was ready to watch American Horror Story tonight but I just couldn't. The show is too bad. I skipped it. But I heard they managed to go in an even worse and uninteresting direction.

In a season named Apocalypse, it has turned into a female witches vs. male witches season. And man, it's not like I didn't already sit through this poorly written female vs. male bullshit last season already.

These writers had two good ideas for seasons and then absolutely nothing. They suck.

pleasantly surprised by the show. creepy, interesting, just overall some really solid horror

a few episodes late in the season seemed particularly inspired, specifically episodes 7 "The Queen" and 9 "Henry Deaver"

this. I'm more a fan of haunted houses so I really liked the concept, and the execution (heh) was decent enough.

I hope it doesn't cause an increase in violence against haunted attraction workers lol. Like that off-duty cop who shot the guy in-costume a while back.

I think I got pretty far into it before I got sidetracked and missed the last few episodes. It was okay. Not spectacular. It had some good horror elements in it though. Creativity in some parts but a whole lot of boring stuff in others.

If it were getting a second season, I'd be more inclined to finish it though.
